Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

ok the hangover from hell has kicked in lets clear a few things up.

Mr Traore, simply not good enough! Distribution and positioning are woeful.  We need a quality left back who feels comfortable on the ball going forward.

Mr Kewell, Rafa made a big gamble on you last night that nearly blew up in our faces.  You have no future at this football club.

Mr Smicer, if you could only perform to the level you played at last night.  You stood up and I thank you for that, but its time to move on.  Wish you all the best for the future.

Mr Hamman, how could we possible let this guy leave. In my opinion he deserves another season.

Mr Dudek, totally different keeper in the 2nd half.  Amazing save in the closing stages.  Great penalty saves and superb antics on the line.  However I do feel Rafa will sell and get as much money as possible for him.  Like Stu said, he doesnt command the area.

Hope your not too harsh with your responses.....

Walk on....

i seriously agree with traore.. he doesn't have the concentration to last the whole match... not goin to improve.. next season, we will see riise playing at left back.. he sucks big time at left midfield // beside the cross he provide for gerrard to score. he tried to out run cafu.. haiz.. failed big time.. either kewell (if he is gd enough) or garcia... or new player...

Hamman has consistantly been one of our best players for the past 5 years.. a true LFC legend!
I groaned when Smicer came on last night, but he has now written his own name ito the folklore of LFC with 2 goals! Superstar
Harry Kewell, so much talent, has he just been unlucky? again?
Dudek, Last night will be his best football moment ever, unfortunately not consistant enough for a Premiership winning team.  My heart goes out to him as he obviously loves the club. Well in Jerzey.
Traore, Its all been said... simpy put he is not good enough.. great goal line stop though!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Not sure I agree. Riise has had one of his best seasons in the red of Liverpool this season and he did it in midfield. He is quick, strong, great crosser of the ball and has scored some great goals. I rated him at left back but i rate him higher at left midfield

We cannot let Didi go. He has been a fantastic servant of the club. Not just last night, but since he he signed. I would hate to see him go to a club like Bolton. We should start a petition to keep him. He is a legend.

Riise is NOT quick... how many times did u see him speed pass a opposition defender? seldom acutally. in fact, he never attempts. instead he would keep the ball still and just hook it in the penalty box. i do not agree that he is a great crosser. all the successful crosses he made were basically when he was under no pressure at all. i think he would do well in left back and giving some support to the wings.

If I am not mistaken, Liverpool has offered Hamann a one year contract but there is a two year contract offer from Bolton, and knowing Sam Allardyace's ability to squeeze preformance from veterans and journeymen, Hamann may well show the form of his late 20s if he goes there.

The story is that Hamann is yet to decide but Rafa is only offering a one-year extension. It is not that we will let him go, but he has a competing offer.

Traore is rather clumsy but he does tackle quite well. Having said that, if his anticipation and positioning is top notch, he won't have to resort to tackling as much!

Smicer...goodbye and thanks.

Dudek...if we get a good price for him, let him go as we need a more reliable and consistent 'keeper like Cech. Even manure and Arsenal is lacking in this depertment.

Kewell...can go as he deos not try or contribute enough for a talent like his.

Josemi and Nunez...I am indifferent as long as these 2 don't start often!

thats a clever post.. riise is just a make shift LM that.. but he did well.. that is no doubt abt that.. but if he is a LB.. defenders will find it hard to guard him.. he has that fierce shot.. and can just pop out of no where from the back and attack..or strike.. that will make him hard to defend.. something like Carlos,
if he plays in the left midfield.. defenders sees him and push him out to the extreme right.. that he is gone... defenders will be able to mark him off easily.

hamann, invaluable in front of the back four, hard to replace. we need him there, at least for a season or two.

traore, quite frankly, is not one player with a lot of upside. his questionable positioning is brutally exposed by milan. would still keep him as a squad player. at least he tackles bloody well.

kewell, last night's game pretty much sums up what he's made of. please go.

baros, hope all that head-less running and whining bodes well with future employer, bye bye.

cisse, a lot a lot to prove. can we afford the luxury next season for him to prove himself?

last but not least - riise. did not have his best game last night. but let's not forget he scores goals and is effective in attack. if we are playing one striker, midfilders need to bang in goals, and tha's what he does there. i'd rather see a quality left back brought in then to see riise there and getting a left mid.

I agree with pretty much all of that

Hamann has to stay, we need him even if he doesn't start every week next season.  Rafa, just give him the 2 year deal he wants FFS

I don't ever want to see kewell in a liverpool shirt again, I'm sick of seeing him wimp off the park.  Look at Carra, wrecked his groin and had cramp and still didn't even want to go off to receive treatment.

Traore, thanks for the goal line clearance but you were well out of your depth last night.  Shevchenko made djimi look like an amateur last night, the amount of times he got caught out of position and played people onside in the first half was a disgrace, he could have lost it for us.  Not good enough

Smicer, the way he played last night proves that he can be a class act when he wants.  Does that mean he just can't be arsed against teams like west brom and palace?  Thanks but cheerio

Dudek.  Fantastic on the pens, but lets face it he was lucky with that 2nd stop from Shev and he spilled the ball twice during the game which could have been 2 goals against.  Cheerio

Having said all this, I will not forget the guts shown by all of these guys last night.  Well done and good luck to them whatever they end up doing next season
