Ronaldo seems as though he wants to be loved by fans and their no fans better at getting behind players than LFC fans, if 'feeling wanted and appreciated' is his real (no pun) reason for leaving then the money will come second fiddle, but I very much doubt it.

How much do you HONESTLY think that Real will sell him for? ???

well from a betting point of view (Ladbrokes) the odds for his club first game next season are:
evens real madrid
7/2 inter
11/2 cheatski
7/1 manure
12/1 barca and gooners
25/1 milan
33/1 liverpool

Id like to say yes to him but i think he may struggle the same way like Morientes does. The only Spanish striker that i think could play for us would be Fernando Torres. But i dont think we can afford him .

Villa's strenght is higher than Morientes'. 8 out of 10 Spaniards would preffer Villa rather than Torres in the WC starting eleven, 1 out of 10 is Atletico supporter, and the other 1 out of 10 are girlies in love of Torres. :)

Torres is the most over-rated and hyped player in Spain, in my view. He´s a good player, but he hasn´t developed in the way most people thought he would. I don´t know why people keep on suggesting him as if he´s the finished article, and worth whatever large price tag that would be placed on him. As Sabre said, most Spaniards (Or people who follow La Liga) would prefer Villa over Torres without much thinking involved. I would love to see either player at Liverpool (As either would be a step up from what we have), but I don´t see it happening. Rafa tried to sign Villa last season if I remember, and nothing could be worked out. He´s worth double what Valencia paid for him now. I don´t see Rafa making either player our club record signing.

A player who I think would do well in the EPL and knows where the net is is Diego Milito. Scored goals everwhere he´s played. Great signing for Zaragoza. Ewerthon isn´t bad either..

Good pick, both in players and club to be targeted: it has recently be known that Zaragoza has SERIOUS, as in, SERIOUS economic troubles, even worse than RS'. I'm Sorry  Erica.
:(

I think that's the kind of player to be targeted, top class players playing in mid teams that can be bought in a reasonable price. I don't think this player's performance would be worse than Ronaldo's whatsoever, and might even be an investment, as they're younger.

Chances are that we would see Raul in a red shirt sooner than Ronaldo.

But I wouldn't want them both.

I think the most overrated player in the liga is not Torres but Raul.

The current 30 years old Ronaldo can definitely still get the goals for us. But millions and millions for someone with no long term prospects...hmm...maybe not.

Though he could be a good advertisement for us to attract the real big names.

why do people start such pointless topics

we will never sign Ronaldo, even if.

Paul Mcartney put his hand in his pockets and stumped up the cash.

He is not the type of player Rafa wants and any idiot can see that, yes he would score goals but it will never be in a red shirt, Rafa is building for the next 10 years and he will go for someone in his mid-twentys

my money is on Defoe

All this talk of Benitez not wanting to sign Ronaldo because he's old makes me giggle.

After all, Rafa signed that spring chicken Robbie Fowler.

True, it wasn't a multi-million pound deal. But Rafa strikes me as a single-minded man who wouldn't bring a player into the side if they were incapable of performing a job for us, no matter how low the price tag.

For what it's worth, I don't think for one second that we will sign Ronaldo. He's a class player, undoubtedly, but I think the price tag Real will slap on him, which is likely to be huge considering he's under contract until 2008, against the amount of time he's actually able to perform at a top level (I'd give him three to four seasons before he starts to decline noticeably) will not present a worthwhile investment to anyone with a fully functional brain. Therefore, he'll probably wind up at Chelsea.

For the ammount Ronaldo would cost, we could probably buy Henry for another 10 mil, a player who would offer a lot more to our team and has still got quite a few years left in him

Benetiz didn't even sign Figo for 2m.

Clearly that shows how much concern his has for the wage structure.

Didnt Milito score 4 when the thumped Madrid 6-1 a few weeks ago. ?

Do you think that Ronaldo can play in the premier league? im in the middle about this! i feel ronaldo isn't a premiership type of player! he isn't fast as he used to be and he doesn't suite the premier league.
