Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

People said this same thing at the last world cup and he went on to be the top scorer. I know this was 4 years go but you dont forget where the goal is at that age. If you are insinuating that Ronaldo at 30 is rubbish then why the :censored: did we bring back Fowler!!!!! Knob heads newbies

When he came to Barcelona he was slim, then he's been in form and developed his muscles, which is nice for the liga, but, he usually comes from  summer with extra pounds and same happens in Christmas.

The amount of goals achieved by Ronaldo won't be any higher in a 30 year old player that unlike Fowler, has based much of  his power on pace, and explossion

Yes I do. Could we afford him? No, I don't think so.

Would you pay more money to Ronaldo than to Gerrard?

Surely a player at 30 will not have a price tag that much. I mean when Viera was 27 he was around £26 Mill, now hs only around 8 or 9 Mil.

I just don't think Ronaldo would be worth the price madrid would ask for him

well he's under contract until 2008 so he would still command a decent transfer fee, even at his age.

to be honest, i think he'll probably end up back at inter milan.

I'm not talking about the signing fees, but wages. He's class, of course he is, but bringing a player that it's so overrated is complicated, his wages are high and you must find a balance between the wages you pay to a team.

My point is that probably Gerrard is the best paid player on the squad, and I hardly think we'll bring a player that earns more money than Gerrard. Ronaldo's demands probably will be higher than that, as the wages he has now are insultantly high. I think there are players as effective, who's wages are the half, and the age is more interesting...

I don't doubt his class now. I doubt though how will his class  be at 32.

For the money it'll cost, there are better investments. We could probably sort out right midfield, buy a decent striker and get a couple of youngsters for the cost of his fee and wages.
