Great goalscorer, but a lazy git who doesn't give anything else to the team (though that may sound silly)

For Benítez, just goals wouldn't be enough, he would require a striker that gives more to the team than just goals.

Benítez would never tolerate a player that just stands there waiting for the perfect through ball, and Ronaldo doesnt do much else other than stand there like he is waiting for a bus.

Yes ur right, it does sound silly if not worse...esp considering Ron has been highest scorer in Spain for every season he has been there save the last 1 or 2. And in the current, had 9 goals from 8 games b/4 injury set in...

Yes, as I mentioned it does sound silly, but ask the Madrid fans, even though he has scored tons and tons of goals for Madrid, and many many important ones for that matter, why they never really liked him?

Where did I say we have a striker better than RONALDO??

I simply stated why Benítez wouldn't sign him.

Ronaldo is still one of the worlds best.

If you look at the post, you'll see it wasn't you I quoted before.

Despite ppl saying hes fat and all sorts of critism, he still dribbles past defenders and score goals. Hes the type of world class striker that will succeed in any league.

Ronaldo peaked 3-4 years ago. No need to sign him for big bucks.

Please Fernando Torress is extremly overrated. Villa on the other hand I wouldn't mind having in the team.

Villa would be an experiemental player like Crouch or Cisse. We need someone who is sure to make an impact. Someone from the Dutch, German or Italian League.

Kuyt, Podolski (watch him in the world cup, did anyone see his goal against i thin Arg in the confed cup from 30 yeards, very consistent striker !), Martins, Nihat

Basically from your post before, you were making out that all Ronaldo does is practically goal hang and wait for the ball to come to him however theres is miles more to his game than that. Ronaldo doesn't just stay on the last man waiting for through balls as he often comes deep to collect the ball and ghosts past opponents to create himself a scoring chance. He can also add a lot to team play and create chances for others.

To say that he just waits around looking for through balls is closer to Michael Owen, not Ronaldo.
