Yeah and Itandje's boogey at the Hillsborough memorial was so endearing wasn't it.  :no  :no

Pepe is a very good goalkeeper but a bit of competition is good for everyone, not sure Robert Green would come here though.

Unfortunately I have to agree this topic lacks any real thought going into it. There is no scope to discuss, we have a better keeper than the one suggested and so the chances are they wouldn't come here. It's the only position doesn't get discussed and there's a very good reason for that.

Besides, Green can't even make the England #1 shirt his own despite those in front of him being dodgy in some aspects of their game. I wouldn't want any of the England candidates, it says something when people considered Almunia qualifying to play for England as a serious goalkeeping option.

"topic lacks any real thought going into it"

er yes you are spot on lol

but my point being is that Reina is safe and feels very safe with his place in the team, i think this has lead to a few mistakes this year, i feel he needs to feel pushed for his place.

As for Green, he is looking for a good contract from west ham, i can not see west ham doing aswell next year as they did this year and there could be a good chance that he will be looking to move.

It's all very well suggesting we need someone to push Reina for his place, but there aren't too many keepers good enough that would come to a club where they wouldn't be first choice.

So it's a nice theory that wouldn't work in practice. Arsenal might be his best destination if he was looking to play for a top four side, or maybe villa for who Friedel is getting on a bit and the back up may or may not be ready/good enough when Friedel retires

I think fergie got his starting line up wrong, as he pretty much put his hands up to by his early substitution (Tevez for Anderson?)

I'd love Messi at Anfield, but I think we'd have to fork out a shedload more for him than Tevez. It almost pained me when hearing ITV say about him being 'discovered', when was the last time our manager(s) discovered a player like that? Lucas?  :D

Ok so now there is a very real chance that Reina might move should we now put an offer in for Green, if we had done it 3 weeks ago he would have cost us less.

who says he has to sit on the bench, 5 games each best man wins.

:censored: hell you can tell that the football seasons over, i am diiging deep for something to talk about.

you slate Rafa for his selection polocies and resting players (styling BigMick) yet you advocate giving two keepers five games each to see who is the best ?

As StuTheRed would have said "GET A CLUE"

IS there every chance of pepe going ? he himself has stated that he loves it at Liverpool and doesnt want to go anywhere .Our keeper looks set to leave ?!!?!?!Jesus lakes stop believing everything in the papers .

Replacing Pepe with Green is a step backwards once again . He is nowhere near the standard of Pepe and if (massive IF) Pepe does leave then i hope to hell we look at a better standard of keeper than Green

er no, they may report what the papers say but only in "what the papers say" bit

this was in their sports round up.

dont forget the bbc news team havve a duty to only report facts...why....we pay them to.

whatthey said this morning was 3 of our players have had bids put in for them, they have not said they have gone, that will be down to the club and the players

can i ask you where do you get your news and info from?

on the other thread you said you heard stuff on sky and you used that to make a point about a player not moving.....Sky are the Same as The S*N, most of them are the same reporters.
