Where's this interview with Rafa's comments ? I see all the references to it here but can't find it....What did he say about Keane - that he didn't fit the team plan ? that he wasn't producing ?

Don't know exactly Mark I read it here an hour or so ago. He basically wished Robbie Keane all the best, said that the player had worked really hard but sometimes things didn't work out etc etc.

Well, fairy nuff if he wished him well....Personally, I think an apology was warranted too...

Yeah keane really should of said sorry for impersonating a 20 mil pound footballer :;):

Its good to see that both keane and rafa have not said anything bad and the press have no actual quotes to try and stir things up .

Can anyone dig up that article when Lawro blew Gerrard up back in November? I think looking back at that the writting was on the wall the,

Its so strange that a 20 million pound striker left us yesterday and it feels like he was never ever here.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Best of luck Keano

Please do not come back to Anfield at the end of the season and score the goals that takes the title from our grip. :(

Interesting dress sense he has. You can take the man out of Russia, etc etc.

Guess we can draw a line under the theory that the owners made him sell Keane against his will.  He clearly wanted shut.  :glare:

No great loss.

No more miss strikes of the ball. No more missing empty nets. No more stupid flicks inside the penalty area resulting in a broken down attack and a wasted opportunity. I find it irksome that for an extra ten million we could have launched a bid for Berbatov.

What? No more of that? have we signed Messi or Villa?

No we haven't.  :( , so we'll have more of that. We'll have very frustrating games if  Torres gets injured. Voronin is a decent player, like Kuyt is, but decent players upfront is not good enough when you want to win the league and/or the CL.

I often can see sense in many Rafa's decissions both in football and other things, probably because each country has certain beliefs in football, different approaches, and some of his decissions are less alien for a continental guy.

But I can't understand the events of the last 48h. I truly can't. If the problem was so blatant, it had to be from some weeks back. If the problem was known a few weeks back we should have thought in a replacement.

I'll always understand that a manager wants to show confidence in the players of the squad. I can understand him not sayin "our players are not good enough" in order to keep the morale up. But Rafa knows how many games we didn't win before Torres or when Torres was absent because of lack of goals in a game with many chances. And I just can't see how he can be confident with the current set for the rest of the season.

I guess something terrible had to happen in the dressroom that forced Keane's departure. OK. But a replacement should have come.  :(
