Lucas - 6 - gave away a very silly foul right at the end which could well of cost us

Thought it was Sturridge who made the initial trip ?

Was defo Lucas mate

90+4 min: Lucas clunks into Schmelzer. Freekick to Dortmund about 25 yards out ... is there another twist?

Liverpool V Borussia Dortmund

Mignolet - 7 - Made some good stops, not at fault for Dortmunds goals
Clyne - 7 - Did well, up against class opponent
Lovren - 9 - Not perfect but gets a top mark for sheer determination abd winning goal
Sakho - 8 - Error prone but like Lovren was "at it"
Moreno - 7 - Good shift, as always looked better when going forward
Can - 8 - Mature performance topped by delicious through ball for Origi's goal.
Milner - 8 - Showed his worth when moved out to the right, offered great protection to Clyne
Lallana - 6 - Expected more, desperately unlucky with his "air shot" if the ball hadn't nudged off his standing foot I'm certain he would have scored
Firmino - 5 - Weakest link, surprised he stayed on as long as he did.
Coutinho - 8 - started poorly, slowly grew into the game. great 2nd half
Origi - 8 - Can't still quite believe he's only 20 ! Excellent performance

Subs...

Allen - 7 - solid shift
Sturridge - 7 - showed glimpses of why despite his injury record he's still so important to us
Lucas - 6 - kept it calm and simple, as required

Cheers CR, I thought Sturridge running after Schmelzer caught Schmelzers calf a fraction of a second before Lucas piled in.

Back to Spec Savers for me   :D

Mignolet - 7.5 Stopped what he should and was all around solid
Clyne - 7 - a bit sloppy technique as usual but worked hard
Lovren - 7.5 - Did very well powering home that header. Was just "ok" defensively though.
Sakho - 6.5 - great mentality and scored an important goal, but boy was he terrible defensively. Plays the opposition onside for every single goal...
Moreno - 7 - In this kind of game with lots of speed and lots of opportunities to go forward Moreno looks better
Can - 8.5 - High energy guy in a high energy game. Was really good
Milner - 8 - lots of work to do and he sure did work
Lallana - 5.5 - was a bit lightweight and didn't get much done
Firmino - 5 - Has a tendency to float out of games. Needs to get rid of that habit so he doesn't become a luxury player
Coutinho - 8 - always has the top class skill to get that goal any time of the game. If he could do that consitently he would be absolute world class
Origi - 9 - This guy shows passion, hunger sprinkled in with some skill. Finally growing into the player I thought he could be when I saw him for Belgium a couple of years ago.

Subs...

Allen - 7 - kept it simple often enough and kept the team ticking
Sturridge - 6.5 - showed at times that he has a high skill level. If only his work rate was the same...
Lucas - 6 - did ok, but will never learn not to do stupid infringements just outside our box....

MINGOLET - 7 couldn't be blamed for any of the goals, in fact he nearly made a wonder save to keep out their first.
CLYNE - 6 looked a bit panicky in possession and caught square for their third but to be fair Dortmund are a tough side to defend against
LOVREN - 8 struggled to contain Dortmunds front 4 but didn't throw the towel in and scored a goal that will go down in Anfield folklore.
SAKHO - 8 same as Lovren, stretched to the limit defensively but showed incredible heart to just hang in there when everything was falling apart. Loved the way they both got so involved in the fight back as well. Although there were a lot of hero's out there last night if you wanted a to pick out a couple of torchbearers who epitomised our spirit and fight on the night then you wouldn't have to look any further than our 2 CB's.
MORENO - 7.5 tbh he looked the only one of our back 4 who was unruffled by Dortmunds pacey attack.
CAN - 8 he was magnificent last night, one of the few that stood up to be counted when we were being over run early on.
MILNER - 7.5 thought he had a terrible first half but he deffo grew into the game as it wore on, that nightmare start turned into a gutsy performance in the end.
COUTINHO - 7.5 like the first leg not really at his best (not sure that wide position suits him) but his goal was a beauty and came just at the right time.
LALLANA - 6 worked hard but struggled to get into the game
FIRMINO - 6 looked a bit off the pace which is understandable given he's just returned from injury
ORIGI - 8.5 my MoM, thought he was outstanding.

Ward - 8.5 - was given a chance and used it well. Showed dominance, great distribution and topped it all off with that save from the header. Hope he gets a few more chances
Randall - 6.5 - was ok
Toure - 7 - good game
Lucas - 7 - struggled against King, but considering he's not even a CB he did well overall
Smith - 6.5 - expected slightly better tbh
Allen - 8 - another good game by Joe
Stewart - 6.5 - not as good as last time, gives the ball away too often for my liking, but a useful player to have in your team
Ibe - 7.5 - finally a good game from him. Good assist for the goal
Ojo - 7 - another good game. A skillful player with a promising future
Firmino - 6.5 - not much apart from the goal
Sturridge - 8.5 - played well and had an assist and a goal. Could have scored one or two more as well but hit the post twice

Subs:
Sakho - 6
Lallana - 6
Origi - 6

Mignolet - 7 - a nice relaxing evening for him
Clyne - 7 - good game
Lovren - 7.5 - now he's getting his defending sorted its nice to see him dabbling in the attacks as well
Sakho - 8.5 - another excellent game, backheels in his own box and a goal too
Moreno - 7 - great enthusiasm but too many wasted shots
Lucas - 7 - steady as a rock. lovely assist for coutinho
Milner - 9 - outstanding. completely outstanding.
Lallana - 7 - looked lively but not as sharp as he can be
Coutinho - 7 - nice goal but not as influential as he can be
Firmino - 6.5 - looking too much like luis garcia again after some recently promising performances
Origi - 8 - really looking the part. hope we don't miss him for too long

Subs...

Allen - 7 - assured as usual
Ibe - 6.5 - showed confidence and ability in the short time he had
Sturridge - 8 - looked polished and happy. loved his cheeky claim for coutinho's goal.

Mignolet - 6 - was he even playing?
Clyne - 7.5 - good game, nice to see him having a good game getting forward
Lovren - 7.5 - good defending in the first half
Sakho - 8.5 - likewise, plus the goal
Moreno - 7 - up and down all night
Lucas - 7.5 - good game, kept it simple. Nice assist for the goal
Milner - 9 - credit where it's due, he's been fantastic lately
Lallana - 7 - thought he did a lot of unsung work in midfield, though he wasted a few chances
Coutinho - 7.5 - was pretty average most of the match but had that moment of magic as usual
Firmino - 6 - don't expect him to raise his game until the end of the season, though he is capable to bang in a goal or two even in this form
Origi - 8 - this kid is golden. Hope he comes back healthy

Subs:
Sturridge - 7.5 - looks in better form with every game
Allen - 7 - another good game
Ibe - 6 - not enough time to do much

Villareal V Liverpool - Europa League Semi Final 1st leg - Thursday 28th April

Mignolet - 7.5 - been his biggest critic but had a decent game, one outstanding save at 0-0
Clyne - 8 - one of his better games, just a shame there was nobody in the box for him
Toure - 8.5 - my man of the match, proved his doubters wrong
Lovren - 7 - another very solid game, a couple of  times he was turned, but all round did ok
Moreno - 5 - I really want to like this player, if only he could sort his positioning he and we would be ok
Lucas - 6 - did ok in there
Allen - 8 - didn't put a foot wrong, ran things in the middle, not his fault
Milner - 7 - another fairly good game, solid performance
Coutinho - 6 - was obviously not right and came off with illness
Firmino - 3 - he's either great or bad, tonight he was very very bad, constantly giving the ball away, poor
Lallana - 6.5 - very unlucky to be flagged off when he was clearly onside

Subs...

Benteke - 5 - far too late for any impact, not his fault
Ibe - 5 - could have provided more, but didn't

Felt JK got it wrong, Sturridge for Firmino, we all saw it tbh, but that said I am still confident we will blow away this team next week
