that's all very subjective, footy not usually played on paper or on the internet

they have won the CC, they are in the SF of the CL, they will probably won the league,

on the pitch :D  they are on course for exactle the same points total as last season, despite us beating them twice (ie. the only reason they don't  have more points than last season is because we've improved our results over them)

I know this will get a bit of debate, but I hope not too much as it's Peewees thread and in any case people normally start frothing at the mouth whenever you mention this. I'll say why I think circumstances have been favourable and then leave it at that. people can come back and say I'm talking b0ll0cks, and then the thread can just carry on.

Our three main rivals, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal.

Man Utd: Fell out of the blocks, were quite happy to give us a start, went to play in the World Club Champs in mid season and in so doing didn't play for a couple of weeks which presented us with an opportunity to build a huge lead. As previously mentioned, an aging team with a distracted Ronaldo, plenty of injuries and contesting five trophies.

Chelsea: Is there anybody who seriously believes that this Chelsea team is the same stratosphere as the one which Mourinho managed, or that if Gud Hiddink had been all season they wouldn't have got more points in the league? Nuff said.

Arsenal: Lost half the midfield in the Summer and chose not to replace them. Unbelieveable run with injuries, and were an absolute country mile behind. Are now showing what they are capable of with some of their better players available, and the other night only a Yossi Benayoun goal in the third minute of injury time stopped them beating us at Home. Thsi in a game where they didn't particularly need to win, and when they didn't play any of their top three strikers. will they have a first half of the season next time as bad as this?

Us: we won four and drew two of our six matches against the big four teams. 14 points, anybody like to have a bet with me that we won't match that next season. Daws will work some odds out for us. Anybody like to bet that we won't pull as many games out of the fire in the dying seconds?

Like I say, favourable circumstances. To be absolutely truthful, we really should have won the league this year IMHO given the way it's panned out. Like I say, we may win it next season but in order to do so we'll need to improve by a fair bit I think.

nobody in particular, the point is many said we can not compete with teams that can go out and spend 30 million on players, the teams always mention are chelsea and man utd, we beat both twice in the league this season, I pointed out before its nothing but an excuse when we don't perform well and the fact we are sat between these two teams having beat both shows it's not the cost of the player but the quality of the player

The way I look at it, I'd much prefer another season like this one, over say finishing way short of the title and winning the FA or Carling Cup. But if we were to go out of the cups early next season, and finish way off the pace at the top of the league, then questions should rightly be asked imo.

The foundation of the team is brilliant. But if we are to win the league then we need better players in the other positions. Our first 11 is good enough to beat anyone on their day but beyond that we cannot compete in the same way. The league is still not over yet but that aside we threw away the title anyway this year when we drew all tose silly games.
We cannot expect Rafa to win the league when he doesn't get the same amount to spend as his peers. He has done a great job so far and this season we have taken a massive leap forward. But we need to get in better players if we want to be more consistent.
