Completely agree mate.

Madrid are an average side these days, and we are a better side than them man-for-man and as a unit.  I fancied us to win tonight, and not only did we win but we thoroughly deserved to do so.

A true miracle would be Madrid getting absolutely anything at Anfield.

They'd struggle to make the top 6 in the Premiership let alone the top 4.  That, in my opinion, is an average side.  La Liga isn't as strong as some would have you believe.  Average by Premiership standards is not necessarily average by La Liga standards these days.

sorry to break the mood mate but though they played very poorly tonight, lets not go overboard. Most of there team would walk into our team no problem (Van nistelrooy, Robben, Van der vart, Sneijder, Higuan, Ramos, Cannavaro to name a few), they still have lots good individual talent, though they are deffo are very unbalanced and fragile team.

Having said that i still expect us to go through comfortably now.

I think a bit of recent and  success has gone like cheap wine to your head, as you can see once and again that players from a supposedly much weaker league are succesful right from the start in what you seem to think it's the football NBA.

Who's Casillas. Nobody it seems. Cannavaro and Ramos. Who the fúck are they. Robben, wouldn't make it in the premier league. Van Nystel Who? Who we have when we don't have Torres, N-Gog, Kuyt. They have a certain Huntelaar, a certain Van Nystel Rooy, a certain Raul, Saviola hardly gets a game.

With that squad depth and a good manager you are saying you'd have troubles to be in a better position than Aston Villa?

I don't have problems when people bang on dissapointing draws in Fratton Park and talk it for weeks, but dismissing an important victory saying it was too easy, are serious indications of reluctance to give credit where credit is due.

i don't think that's necessarily that relevant - after all, lowly espanyol beat the "best team in europeTM" last weekend in their derby....

everton gave us a good game but are still down below in 4th or 5th or 6th or wherever - are you really arguing that RM are a similar quality to the bs?

You reckon?  Higuain?  I'm not convinced.  Has potential but wouldn't walk into our team imo.  I think Cannavaro's past it to be honest.  If any of their defenders are worth having it's Pepe, he's the best of a bad bunch.

Higuan not the finished article but he's a damn sight better than the likes of Kuyt and Babel, scores quite a few goals in La liga. On paper id say most of there players were better than ours if im honest, but there teams unbalanced and has to many similar players especially in Midfield, plus they lack a certain Mr Benitez calling shots  Rafa always seem to have his thinking cap on for these big Champions league games, which is when we need his advanced tactics not versus Stoke!

I imagine RM would be appear in virtually anyone's top10 european team at the moment (by virtue of being spanish champions 6/7 and 7/8 )

it's not very easy to equate league positions in spain to those over here,  but apart from united there's not much to  write home about in  our league at the moment so i couldn't really see RM struggling to get top4 in our country
