Ian- as a life long fan- I also like the local influence on the team-but there has to be real loyalty not the two faced antics we have seen from these so called local backbone players i.e MACCA-OWEN AND NOW GERRARD.
CARRA has been head and shoulders above gerrad the last two seasons and will now become a great captain-
pride and desire come from inside the player-
whos loyalty and desire would you really want in a liverpool player-carra-haman-alonso- garsia etc - or the three locals who walked out on our club?
whithin 2 seasons we will all be glad gerrard went and joined the other badge kissers and left our club to carry on rebuilding with players of character who will be REALLY proud to wear the red shirt

don't get so radical about my comments. i am a lad who's off, just like you. Like someone mentioned above, all my favorite players are gone. It's hard to reconcile. LFC was my favorite english team (my all favorite is celtic since i come from that area). It's been hard to accept all the scum that enters celtic but i 've gotten used to it now ... i have issues with e-europe and africa because i don't want to see our dear ole isle go astray because of the cheap foreign imports ... but that's life ... gotta live with it! When liverpool played against Juventus a comintator from our local TV who were broadcasting the game sad:
"i realy admire liverpool because althou the have many foreign players who were reised in other clabs, the players are fighting for each ball jast as if they were reised in liverpool, they are playing for the symbol for the prestige of the club!!!!"
   I think that every player who will come to liverpool would know liverpool history and would play with 100% comitment to help liverpool in the best way he can!!
