08/12/07 Reading vs Liverpool (5.15ko)
11/12/07 MARSEILLE vs LIVERPOOL (7.45ko)

Which do you think is more important? Which will Rafa? Given roughly three days between the end of the first and beginning of the second, Liverpool have to win, and that Liverpool have to fly to Marseille and prepare, I think resting is a probability.

But we could still beat Reading, depends how much Rafa rests players. If our FA cared we'd have played this Friday night, tonight or Saturday lunchtime, obviously they only cancel or reaarange fixtures for the mancs. I saw Arsenal are playing tonight, we do have a game in hand as well. We could play tonight easily, no different to any other midweek game and it would give us more time to prepare for the Champions League.

by all accounts boro (yes boro) should have beaten them last weekend.

we'll win 2-0 with the minimum of fuss.

 , loved the bush one.

I have a feeling that Rafa will rest Carra for this match, considering that he won't be fit on time and is one yellow card away from suspension, so it would be interesting to see Jack Hobbs player, I know its risky but its worth a try.

I think we will win this one, if Torres and Gerrard plays then we have a good chance of winning, considering that we are doing really well away.

It hasn't taken most Clubs long to suss Reading out and we are certainly no exception...... They lack real quality in any department that can really affect a game, their "top" player, Nicky Shorey (a full back!) wants away and their defence is dodgy at best...... I'm not one for predicting scorelines but results? a comfortable win I reckon.....

They are basically a poor team but well managed and with one or two players who could hurt you. No doubt they'll be very direct, and after their ill-fated attempt to play very defensive and go for the point at Home to Arsenal, I have a feeling they'll really go for it, perhaps play 4-3-3 or something. Hyppia will be crucial dealing with the aerial bimbardment, but if the stories are true that carragher is going to be rested, then Hobbs is going to have to really be on his game.

For them, I like Doyle and think at this level of club he is a good player who will always score his share of goals. Bizarrely, 1234 Spam's pick of two or three years ago Leroy Lita is potentially dangerous as well. I also like the Irish fella who plays out wide, not just for the fact that he ensured Peter Ceck has to look like a rugby league player in each match these days, I think he's a decent player. Nicky Shorey is tidy and will obviously move on to better things (we have signed worse players ourselves to be truthful), but all in all it's a game where anything other than a win will be a very poor result.

I have no fears about this one, provided we don't get too carried away with the rotation. If we must rest Carragher (and we probably musn't unless he actually injured but there you go) then Torres and Gerrard should definately play. If Carra plays, you'd probably get away with resting one of the other two. I would be extremely reluctant though to rest two out of the three. IMHO of course, I'd just play all three and have doen with it.

I can see Cara being on the bench, as he's one yellow away from a ban -
not sure if he did get a yellow, whether that would rule him out of the Man U game.

I can see Lucas playing, with Mascherano playing in the Marseille game.

Torres should defo start.

Playing a team you know you should easily take care of with some Very important games coming up, in American football we would call this a "trap game"
                     Reina
Arbeloa    Hobbs      Hyypia   Riise
El Zhar     Gerrard    Lucas     Kewell
                Torres    Voronin
Subs:
Martin
Darby
Yossi
Babel
Kuyt

El Zhar? C'mon, that's pushing it.

Yossi or Babel on the right surely.
