Got meself a ticket for this one and it doen's involve a 400 mile round trip so i'm looking forward to it even if no-one else cares about the competition! I actually think it's a pretty important trophy for us, not because it's a trophy the team, manager or us fans are desperate to win but because a good run to the quarters/semis means everyone one in our ('two players for every position') squad can get enough playing time to keep them happy(ish).

Am liking suggested team from Has at the top of the thread. A good opportunity to blood Leiva (who may be needed in Alonso's absence), take a look at Hobbs and a great shout to give Babel a run out up front.

I'd select the team that Cool Hand Luke picked, apart from Carra who should be given the night off(or at the most on the bench),mind you knowing Rafa he'll probably pick Torres!! :D

Not Arsed about this TBH give the kids a go, I will go ballistic if Torres starts this one though.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

was just thinking that... there is no way torres will play here.

be interesting to see what rafa does defence wise considering we are low on cbs. he may well bring in some youngsters and reserves as if hyps or carra was injured in this game we are in big trouble.

Is this guy serious?

Team that CH Luke has put up seems about right to me. Maybe Finnan instead of Arbeloa. would like to see Babel play up top in his natural position.

I know that the Carling Cup isnt the be all and end all but surely this is where our squad should come into play. Our squad is decent enough to field two starting elevens and i expect nothing more than a win against Reading F.C.

no way dude, id never risk carra AND hypia with agegr out, and stevie could use the rest... id go absolutely the other way:

--------------------Itjande-----------------
Arbeloa-----Arbeloa------Hobbs-------Insua
Benayoun-----momo-----Leiva----------Leto
------------Babel-----------------
-----------------Lindfield-----------

(partially stolen from some dude on 606)

I would definitely use 11 players in this game, Reading are better than you think!  :D

Looks like we will get to see some more of Levia in action. I really hope that this year one of our kids can break through and im sure this one should, after all Rafa did pay around 6Mil for him.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.
