Rafa. - What i'd do if i was him.

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

All the point you list bigmick would entail Rafa seriously changing the way he does his thinking and tactics and thats not exactly something thats going to happen from one meeting. Hes never been one to admit hes wrong unless it meant actually selling a seriously underperforming player. "play lucas more, play babel more". One of 2 things are going to happen after this meeting.

1) They will say to Rafa you can have 1 moe year of our money but after that if we are still no closer you can f.uck off
2) They will tell him to f.uck of now

Now the owners are dummies either, they will be well aware of how much the fans support the boss and the potential for a backlash but at the same time its their business so whatever they want, they will get.

Crouch is a goal scoring threat.....Kuyt ain't.

I cant see Crouch as a goalscoring threat either.

But all our strikers suffer from our bad midfield.

Right that :censored: tops it ( Bad  midfield) please someone put me out of my misery and tell me Beadles about

Sell Kuyt, Sissoko and maybe Crouch too if we need the money, buy a top creative striker who will feed Torres and a good young CB.

Sorry but this match showed the obvious lack of creativity in the midfield. Kewell is the only real winger, and he has just come back from god knows how long injured. Hopefully he can get back to the form he was in years ago, but thats still a way off if he ever manages it. It doesnt help to have 4 great defensive midfielders when they share one spot. We cant depend on Torres or Gerrard doing it by himself every time.

Still need to make sure that we finish top 4 before we give up on the season and start playing kids. Although I think Babel is ready and Lucas as well, its certainly should be a case by case thing and not an overall policy thing.

How many times have we heard that about Kewell. "lets hope he gets back to his best". Hes not simple as, hes used goods, hes been injued far to many times.

Bigmick a lot of the points you make that could help us are not straight forward ones. "play this person more, rotate less". You would effectivley have to go up to Rafa and say "hey change the way you manage as its messing up the team". How many managers actually do that? None, instead they leave. The owners will say one of 2 things to him tonight.

1) Youve had enough money and still slagged us off in public, :censored: of"
2) Youve got 1 year left of our money and then you can :censored: off.

Given the show of support the fans and everyone showed him last week I doubt they will sack him this season but I wouldnt put it past them should we be having this kind of discusion next season as quite frankly despite a few random stats plucked out from here and there, have we realy progressed further than Houllier? Apart from Torres and Alonso how many top class players can we geniunley say we have in our team. We struggled today to take even the easiest chances on a plate and we were at home. Our skipper was virtually out of the game with only the occasional blast over the bar to show for himself. Its all good shouting Rafa Rafa Rafa when we think the owners want him out but seriously ask yourself can you see this guy bringing back the league? Ultimatley he will be judged on his league performances and he doesnt help himself when he leaves someone he paid 13Mil for on the bench in one of the biggest games of the season. We are still lacking that creativity, that ability to be able to create a chance against the big sides. Rafas record against the big sides is terrible, at least with Hullier we were winning against the mancs home and away season in season out. This is bloody embarrasing, and it will be even more so if we dont make 4th place.

YES gerrard to play on the right as he is much better than benayoun and pennant ... ( but if we get a new rw then move gerrard back into his central role )

I would like to see Rafa make a move for a new SS to partner torres up front .....

I'd like shevenko but i doubt it .. he is in a bad form but he is also a quality player bit unfit
i'd say he'd be cheapish because of his age ,his form etc etc....

And quaresma would be quality for a RW .... :)

"not good is enough" is not correct but i know what you mean. Defensively solid but offensively lacking. Thats quite clear so no need to jump on him guys.
I also do think our strikers suffer due to lack of service. This has been mentioned a lot of times and especially clear when play against good teams.

babel

Pace, power, technique, time. I would go with him now. Looks a lot more promising than Kuyt, Crouch and Vororin

I agree that Babel should partner Torres and when introduced today he looked very lively and positive.

We still have a few too many average players and against the real big hitters they fall short of whats required.

Out of todays line ups I would imagine only Gerrard and Torres would make the Utd team and thats what we are up against.

Unfortunately its a familiar tale for Liverpool and alas another season outside the top two places looks pretty likely now.

I would say out of the line up today only Carragher, Mascherano and Torres would make the team, but no way would Gerrard. Why does nobody criticise him, he was dreadful again today, he is a shadow of the player he was 2 or 3 seasons ago, although he's still got huge potential and talent. Against the big teams he goes missing in the league and that is really weird, and here I think rafa needs to talk to hi or send him to a sports physchologist or something, but something is wrong with Stevie. And yes I know he played well in the last few games but he was so much more consistent a few seasons ago, I want that Stevie back.

My opinion is ..The Benitez tactics have killed the player formerly known as Steven Gerrard.

He is just a team player now, part of the Benitez jigsaw.

He doesnt want to carry the ball now.

He doesnt look interested now.

Hes a shadow of the player he was, for Liverpool and England..a big factor on why we are not in euro 08.
