Edit: Just read some later comments after mine and I think I would just like to add that he should go as things stand. There should be better options like:

a) Just go, I've seen enough
b) He should unless things change
c) He should stay because he needs more time to make it happen
d) I dont care or I'm not sure
etc

why makes things complicated?
When in the end it comes down to go, stay, neutral.
