In what way, is it in terms of being able to draw games at home?

Yeah we have drawn a few too many at home but overall we have been better. Normally we are out of it by October but that wasn't the case this year. We are by no means the finished article but out of all his league performances this year is his best I think.

I don't agree Bav. Our best ever performances were in the 2005/6 season imo. We played good football that season.... certainly better than we have achieved for the majority of this season.

If you are talking about results and not performance than its still open to discussion. We gained 82 points that season and won a cup, something we have still to achieve since.

Excellent news for me. Continuity rather than yet another rebuilding process is what I want. We've progressed again this season with virtually no new transfers of merit, and with our two best players having time on the side-lines. It could have been far better and Rafa has frustrated at times especially with his public fights. I do believe that his intentions have always been towards making Liverpool a better club. He has fought for the control he feels he needs to take us to the next level - I hope he can now deliver on that. It is a big ask. I think we could certainly win a title in the next couple of seasons - it will be magic if we do, but what we really want is sustainability - being title challengers year after year. Some of the recent threads have demonstrated how far we are behind our competitors in terms of club income, overall spending power, player wage spending, stadium capacity and gate income. These things have to be addressed if we are going to continue to compete at the very top level. Oh and a tweak to more aggressive, attacking, 'win at all costs' football as well please.

Only just mate. We are better because the top teams are worse. I honestly don't see much improvement, well apart from the last two games of course.  :buttrock  :wwww

Yeah good point. But this season isn't over yet. My fingers are crossed and I really think we can win something this year.  :)

I think that is open to debate mate.

Since he arrived in English football, Benitez has used 30 players in the Premier League in 2004/05(final position 5th), 24 in 2005/06(final position 3rd AND BEST POINTS TOTAL ), 29 in 2006/07(final position 3rd), 28 in 2007/08 (final position 4th) and 23 so far this season.(FINAL POSITION ?)

To be fair Saint, that stat shows that Rafa didn't trust the squad in 04/05 and that his best performing sides are the ones that he has always he maintained is the necessary requirement - 2 players in each position (24 in 05/06 and 23 in the current campaign).

The quality of some of the squad is questionable and thats where improvements need to be made for us to sustain a consistent title challenge year in, year out.

"No new transfers of merit", yes funny how you see us spunking £30 million away in the summer on mostly :censored: transfers as a positive :no . You rafalites are just fantastic, oh how I wish I could twist every fact to being a positive like you guys do.

Hes not perfect but no one is. The amount of abuse he recieves in the press and media is pathetic.

And I dont hear any fecker critisizing Arsene feckin Wenger just cause his team used to play sexy football.

Its about time some attention was shipped on him.

What a fantastic week, its been verging on Istanbul  :buttrock
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

REST IN PEACE PHIL, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

If a squad player is "questionable", surely the answer is DON'T PLAY HIM ? Then sell him and bring in someone of better quality. The fact that after 5 years we still have a squad full of questionable players is maybe a genuine concern?
