Rafa's comments - Tottenham crying to the puffs that be

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Sky Sports are reporting that Tottenham have reported the Boss' comments re: Defoe and Cisse rumours. As far as I can see our manager's has got fed-up with what Spurs have been stirring and now can't take his honest outburt.

All very well them unsettling our player ..

This should be interesting, but I think Benitez has a right to say what he did; when Spurs themselves have been peddling the idea  :nod

Well Rafa is just saying what the media is showing. Rafa read on the papers that Defoe maybe on his way to liverpool or on his way out of tottenham, so the boss thought that Tottenham don't need defoe and that is what he told the media, that it looks like tottenham are trying to sell defoe.

But have Benitez ever lied about something? Defoe isn't playing with Tottenham, he is always benched!

What's the worst that the FA could do? Even if they do consider it, it will surely only be a fine at most.

i hope stories of Rafa's interest in Defoe are unfounded.

He is not the player to take us to the next level.
He's not even an England regular, or a spurs regular for that matter!

I just dont rate him.

But if your criteria is that they need to be an England regular than that only leaves 2 options. Owen and Rooney. So I take it your first choice would be Owen? Probably mine to to be honest, but Defoe is a good player and I think he would make an excellent partner for Crouch.

As for Rafa's comments, maybe he should have kept his trap shut, but Spurs are over-reacting. Everyone knows (or think they know) that both Cisse and Defoe will be jumping their prospective ships in the summer, so I think they're having a huff over nothing.

Rafa kinda put himself in the line of fire with those comments he made regarding Defoe status at Tottenham, when you make comments like that you're just asking for a backlash 'n' that's exactly what's happened. Hopefully Benitez will learn from this mistake so he doesn't get a bit of bad press.

I disagree, i still think he has done nothing wrong, he is just stating what the media said this week about cisse and defoe and nothing more.

After all, you must remember that the media sometimes tend to twist the words that comes out of Rafa's mouth

Very true & that's why I treat every bit of media source I read with a cynical & sceptical outlook, however Benitez shouldn't have commented on Defoe in that way. It wasn't his place to comment & he should of just left it. Because now you have that complete :censored: Levy having a swipe in the press. It's just created an uneeded argument.

They can rant as they like, because all what Rafa is doing is just saying what he thinks on Defoe's situation.

rafa has just responded to all the negative :censored: that the papers like to use on lfc. Spurs have looked at cisse and maybe aren't chasing him now but this story has been like an eye for an eye scenario. They unsettle our player then rafa is well within his rights to unsettle theres.

Rafa's riled over something.
Something has vexed him.

acording to reports today  jermain defoe insists he wants to leave spurs...true or false we will just have to wait and see...one thing is certain defoe will score goals for us there is no doubt about that...if the reports are true and with the timing defoe wants to join us  :;):
