Is it me, or has the debating around here gone down in quality soimewhat? I'm hoping it's just pre-season flabbiness, ready to be worked off in the rough and tumble of mid-season banter but I'm a touch worried to be fair.
Too often these days when somebody makes a fair, thought provoking point, the couple of good replies are swept away by a couple of pages of nonsense. One liners, back slappers and smileys rule around here right now. A week or so I started a new thread and came back an hour later to find the debate bore no resemblance to the original point. It had been taken over by the "nice one mate  , not 'arf  " brigade.
The better posters don't seem to be around so much anymore. Are they away or have they, like me become disillusioned with all the silliness?
Was it ever thus, am I harking back to a halcyon era that never really existed, am I just old? Will someone quote the post and change the quote (the latest hilarious ruse)?
Hopefully it's just pre-season blues and when it all kicks off, the big boys and girls (Lynds) will take over the asylum once more.

Silly season in more ways than one,

i'm sure as soon as the transfer window is closed, alot of the amateur champ managers will go back to whatever else they do.

No i totally agree Bigmick. I have'nt been a member for that long, but used to read the forums for a few months before actually signing up. And its true there was a lot more 'proper debate' before ther CL win. I hope to get back to the real debating and discussions as the season starts in AUGUST (THOUGH ours really starts tomorrow).
But will this happen??  Who knows??
Like the last few days all the threads are quite boring, with no real debate and as you say just 'one-liners'.
I mean WHY would anyone post a new topic on 'Alonso going to Villa' that is just plain f.ucking stupid. Then we have a thread on the possibilty of Rio Ferdinand being a possible transfer target. This is as likely as me being offered a KILO of Hashish for FREE and saying NO.......Just aint gonna happen...EVER!!

Mick,Ihear what you are saying and it is a fair point.Iam as guilty as anyone in contributing to some of the sh!te on here.It is the closed season and boredom has well and truely set in.In no way have I set out to stifel disscusion or debate but some of the threads are absoloutly beyond comprehension.Ihave been camped out in general chat for the last few weeks and just pop over here to see if anything rattles my cage.
Only a few weeks of madness left then we should get back to normal,looking forward to some serious banter and some of your posts.

Yeah I agree aswell. I think there were actualy less members than there are now. So more members = more newbies = more spam.

i will say their are alot of floating around, like questions such as whos going to score for liverpool against TNS. I agree this is not needed, but given the right direction by a senior member the post can be made into a decent one.

I think there are a few new younger posters here....maybe we need some sort of LFC play area for them?
