Portugal's ricardo to liverpool?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The agent of Portugal goalkeeper Ricardo Pereira has urged Liverpool to consider a swoop for his client, who is keen on a summer move to The Premiership.
Ricardo, who proved his country's match-winner against England in the Euro 2004 quarter final, is considering his future having grown discontent at Sporting Lisbon.

He was reportedly offered to Celtic but his agent has now indicated he would be interested in a move to Anfield.

''He would jump at the opportunity to join the English Premiership, especially with Liverpool,'' he confirmed.

''He has shown his qualities throughout this year's tournament and if a club could afford him, then he would quit Lisbon.

''Rafael Benitez will know all about Ricardo from his time in Spain.''

What do you think about this? I thought our keepers were good enough anyway.. but i dunno...he cud take our penelties

One of the worst keepers at euro 2004, would only be worth signing to take ALL our penalties. :p :D

For a start, isn't he an ex-Manc?

They shipped him out because he wasn't exactly setting the place alight.  Why should we buy him?  He doesn't look anything special to me.

the guy went on loan to manure for a brief spell a couple of years back didn't he. no thanks. we already have two top class keepers and should be concentrating on strengthening other areas such as centre back and midfield.

You might be right there actually.  This Ricardo has played for Boavista against us.

Still, I don't want him.

I'd keep Dudek and Kirkland over Ricardo, at the end of the day were ok in the keeper department but he needs to buy centre backs like Ujfalusi, Dellas, etc.

have i missed something here- why are we always being liked to new keepers when we have two of the best keepers in the Premiership, surely its the only position we dont need a new signing for.
