Florent Sinama-Pongolle should be fit for Liverpool's crucial Champions League tie with Deportivo La Coruna in Spain on Wednesday.
The French striker missed Saturday's draw with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park after picking up an injury against Millwall in the Carling Cup last week.
The news will come as a boost for Rafael Benitez after it was originally feared that Liverpool could travel to Spain with Milan Baros and Neil Mellor as the only out-and-out strikers in the party.
On Saturday, £14m record signing Djibril Cisse was ruled out for the rest of the season after breaking his leg, leaving Liverpool a bit short of options in attack.
Pongolle has looked impressive in his cameo appearances so far this season but Benitez may opt to partner Baros with either Luis Garcia or Harry Kewell on Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, in a further boost for the Reds, Steven Gerrard and Antonio Nunez resumed training today.
Gerrard broke a metatarsal in September while Nunez suffered medial ligament damage to his knee in only his first training session for Liverpool following his transfer from Real Madrid.
The Spaniard could be ready for his Liverpool debut in a couple of weeks whilst Gerrard is targeting the trip to Middlesborough on November 20th for his comeback.
Both hope to start full training within the next ten days

Well this is great news because it gives us a bit more options up front.
