Players we need this summer - To contend for the title

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Goalie : both Kirland and Dudek are rubbish. We need Jose "Pepe" Reina of Villareal. has stopped 7 of 9 enalties this year. And even better he wants to come to Anfield.

RW; Jerrmaine Pennat. Nunez is rubbish and Garcia is not consistent enough. I don't even think Garcia is even a winger.

LB- Patrice Evra. one of the brightest one talents in Europe. will only cost 2 Mil.

CB- Sami is getting too old.  We need Pablo Ibanez of Athletico Madrid. great stopper. Or that Juanito kid if he is cheaper.

CM- Joey Barton, would be a cheap buy from City. he is also a Local boy from Huyton.

Cannot understand why people on here keep saying Jermaine Penant or Joey Barton, neither of them are good enuff for us, and no way good enuff for Premiership contenders or Champs league we need to aim higher than those guys, if we cant afford anything better, then bring on the youth, both have on and off the field issues they need to deal with as well.

Barton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on let's sign that beer loving monkey. He has no skills, but hey, he is english so it does not matter. A good signing for the nightclubs in Liverpool. They will get a lot of action on the weekends with Barton in the house.

Banana, you can do better than this. If you don't rate him then say so and explain why. Leave words such as monkey out of debates. Beer loving? My suspicion is that lots of footballers/young men love a beer.
Should we sign him? not in a million years in my view, not good enough even for Man City in most games. If he wasn't from Liverpool he wouldn't even get a mention.

Patrice Evra is a very good left back and I would prefer him to both Riise and Traore at left back.  He's also younger than Traore and is seen as being the natural heir to Bixente Lizarazu.  He's one of the most highly rated players in the french league.  As for the others.... ???

Im not so sure

Barton - at best - average - at worst a trouble maker
Never really been convinced with Pennant - he was billed as having a very bright future - but has now been farmed out by Wenger - one can only assume for not being good enough

Don't really know about the other players mentioned

Agree with what you said about Garcia - his best position is not right wing
But then again - if he keeps putting crosses in like he did at the weekend
then - needs must and all that

ok
we could do with a cb, a lb and a couple of midfielders.
Who we buy as always depends on what happens if stevie g stays or goes.
if he goes then we buy ayala, van der vart and ballack maybe.
if he doesnt then its gonna be tighter.
Also depsnds now hat money we get for players we get rid of: diouff (2m), diao (1m), cheyrou (500k), mellor? (2m), biscan? (1m), kirkland? (1.5m)

so that would be 8mil. i dunno, u never know what benitez will find but time will soon tell

nah, hamman has another season in him yet. with alonso back next season hamman will be perfect cover as a defensive midfielder and could be very important to us imo.

agreed st mike. i thought we should have signed him before the chelski got him. i think if we sell stevie g and our loan/fringe players we would have around 43 million in the kitty.
with that we could buy 4 or 5 world class players if we shop around properly. the problem being tho with money is that when people know uve got some the price goes up. u think chelski woulda got alonso for 10 mill? not a chance.
partker would be a nice touch tho, better than barton anyways lol
