Fernando Morientes and Harry Kewell are miles ahead of everyone else. One of them just couldnt adapt to the pace of the game but was a goal machine everywhere else he played, and one of them was happy to sit on a treatment room table for 11 months of the season, sporadically healing to play international tournaments.

It's sad that Harry Kewell has been ripping it up with Galatasaray. He has been outstanding. 5 goals in 8 matches.

But one stands out for me a £3m purchase of World Cup Winner.... Bernard Diomede, three year contract, upwards of £15, maybe even £20k per week played and i'm guessing half a dozen games

Pound for pound I suppose Nanny got it right with Frank McGarvey who never played a game for us, although it could be argued that some of the players who played a lot of games for us did more damage........ Phil Babb for example?

which players that you initally rated and thought would become great players ended up letting you down so to say .
