Like I've said, it isn't the answer to any problems we have but I'm absolutely certain that all of the current top four with the exceptioon of Aston Villa miss a trick in this dept.

Fairly recently ?

It was in the 80's mate.

Feck me I'm getting old, only seems like he retired about five years ago or something. Apologies in advance, I've been on the old Teachers and Coke and it's quyite possible I'll talk even more b0ll0cks than normal for the next twenty minutes or so.

Mind you thinking about it your probably right about Wright, he's had his telly programmes and all sorts since he packed up. And he played in that 5-4 game in the Fa Cup when Dalglish was manager (might have been 4-3). Feck me it was years ago. Anyway not a good example Wright but there must have been someone else   :D

He did play for Palace that day - mad - I was woken up by my Dad in bed that season with score updates when we beat them 9-0. so if I was in bed early I must have been ten.  :D

Jason Koumas is a player that has come from the lower divisions that could easily play for a top 4 team imo, his attitude has been questioned at times but if you stuck him right midfield for us you would see an improvement.

We have an excellent spine to our team of that there is no doubt but it is awful down the flanks. No left back (bring back John Arne) as first choice or replacement. Apparently Dossena is first choice for the Italian national squad! That is surely a joke, similarly to that mule of a player Lucas, there is absolutely NO discernable talent, can't cross, not quick, can't tackle, can't pass but thankfully likes to get forward for what reason when his skill factor is 1/10. Arbeloa has never looked like a decent player ever, he was at fault for the goal against Everton, he's light weight and lacks the pace required of a right back, again his tackling remains questionable an average player at very best. Reira has flattered to deceive. Occassional glimpses of talent but he runs at players without actually moving the ball so all the defender has to do is watch it, more finesse and less 'if only I could get through this player! I know I will make myself invisible, oh no Ive failed again, I shall try harder next time.' etc. Kuyt not a winger or right midfielder and apparently not a striker! I like his work ethic though, was poor against Everton! Now Babel is a player I would play more, he's not a favourite of Raffa's but give the kid a chance, for his pace if for nothing else. Benayoun, not a wide player also, but the best of a bad bunch when it comes to who to pick. If the rest of the season is to be judged on who we have on the bench and actually on the pitch, it doesn't bode well!

I think we just need a top class RM and RB and then we are set. Possibly another striker but im keen first to see how Babel and NGog get on for the rest of this season. Now that Keane has gone we will surley see them play more.

i would say we really need a creative player , someone like arshavin or silva - someone like that who plays between the attack and midfield . sliva would be good as he can also play out wide . another striker would be good as well .

Silva would be expensive. Probably 18 - 25Mil I would say. If we did get another striker id want someone similar to Crouch/Drogba who is physically powerful and can hold up the ball. Not sure if Jones from Sunderland could fit the bill or would be good enough but from England he is the only person I could think of.

Decent right and left backs, and top quality wingers, not good players who are pushed out wide to fill in void. Has Raffa bought an out and out winger of any stature (Reira has yet to convince me and at 7million you can get 3 Robbie Keane's for that price)?

Silva will be expensive but he is the kind of player a club like us should be going for, Plus they are really in trouble for money at the moment so should sell him.
