I would take Milos Krasic , but before the world cup because i have a feeling that Serbia will push to semi-finals and the prices of their players will go sky-high. 16 mil would be enough for him and he would link up good with Jovanovic . Also i would love Arda Turan , the kid is briliant . And about the LB position i would stick agger there ( i kind of liked him as a lb ) and buy kjaer who will play as a cb. So that 16 for krasic , 4 mil + babel for Turan , and 10 for Kjaer , total of 30 mil.

Players I think should or could be shown the door :- Babel, Skrtel, Cavelieri, Riera, Aurelio, Kuyt, Degan, possibly N'gog

A few too many names for my liking, we complain at no depth of squad but when it is one in, one out then you're never going to have squad depth

Babel - maybe we should have sold him when teams were interested, may well go at a loss but despite some being impressed with recent form, he delivers next to nothing worth any fee we might get for him. I hate writing off players who cost around £11.5m, but do we have much choice?
Skrtel - too injury prone, not my cup of tea as a CB but will we get the £6m we paid for him?
Cavalieri - money is supposedly tight so why did we spend £3m on a back-up keeper? Will we get £3m for him?
Riera - probably just a question of how much, fourth in a row where we'll be twitchy over whether we'll get the £8m we paid for him back ie three potential losses in more ways than one
Aurelio - I read a while back he is on his way out, too injury prone and not great when fit
Kuyt - the saddest truth is it is all too believable people would sell one of our top scorers, hardest workers and scorer of crucial goals.
Degen - Rafa won't play him when he's fit, might as well not be here. This is the first in FIVE names that we can't make a loss on!
N'Gog - is young and might not fetch much so can't see why we'd sell him


Sad fact is there isn't much we don't need that would fetch much. Degen, Aurelio and N'Gog are the ones I'd hope to make a profit on only because they cost £1.5m between them! Doesn't say a lot for Rafa's moves in the transfer market that the lot you list cost £40m between them, how much would we expect for them?

Purslow was offered Van der Vaart and a striker by R.Madrid recently for around £6million according to reports so there's a start. (I am presuming the striker will be Van Nistelrooy?) We need a good left back and supposedly Bridge is leaving Citeh so I think we could get him for around £5 million or so. CB I wouldn't look any further than Kjaer he has a 10million euro buy out clause and would be a bargain. We desperately need more up front and I would be looking to Tevez to provide it. He would be an excellent foil for Torres and could even play upfront if required on occasion. I would like a good versatile fast tricky winger to complete my selection, but unfortunately my funds ran dry before I got to Messi.

Saint, can you please tell me how Kjaer is better than Skrtel?  And how can you put Van der Vaart on the left wing?  I've been watching him play for a long time and he would be useless there.

I have only seen Kjaer play once mate, but I have it on EXPERT authority that he is a cracking player and will become as good as Hyypia. (admittedly my son is not always right)

Van der Vaart I would be using in a similar role to Arshavin (but from the left) not as an out and out winger. I would be expecting to get width from my full backs with my "wingers " both being more of the creative type than typical crossers of the ball. My only real worry would be a lack of genuine pace from Benny and Van der Vaart, but until we get a little more money I would prefer depending on talent rather than just buying a "flyer".

Aurelio I am replacing with Bridge
Skrtel I am replacing with Kjaer
Babel I am Replacing with Van der vaart
Riera never gets a game anyway
Degan never gets a game anyway and I think Kelly is a good replacement
Kuyt I am replacing with Jovanovic
Which leaves N'gog who I am replacing with Tevez.

As for squad players I would probably be looking to who is available on a free to fill in any holes.
