Garcia is not a good player? Garcia is one of the main reasons why we made it in the Champions League final in the first place. All players have weaknesses and I can only recall one time when Garcia losing the ball led to us conceeding a goal and that was against Fulham at home.

carson... only chelsea were willing to pay how much leeds demanded for him, surely rafa wasnt the only other premiership manager to see him play?

So Carson is a bad keeper because only us and Chelsea wanted to buy him?

???

morientes... repayed about £2.99 of the £6M we spent on him so far

Morientes didn't have a full season to prove himself nor did he have the fitness.

ppl say becoz crouch scored 16 goals around players last season, he'll score more with better players... wat abt the other side of the coin.... maybe he was made to look better than he really is becoz he was playing with  players

If he scored 16 goals with sh1t players why couldn't he do it with a better club?

we had better get a LOT more than £7M for baros becoz its FACT that baros is a better player, and when he moves on.. he WILL show that. hope he doesnt go to another premiership club.

Good luck to him, I don't care where he proves himself because he can't do it for Liverpool Football Club.

garcia: :censored:, thas my opinion... dnt loose too much sleep over it faggot.

carson: we were the only ones besides chelsea willing to pay £750k

morientes: ur excuse for him hasnt made him worth £6M yet has it? no.. so wats ur point?

crouch: take that penis out of ur mouth n read the bit i sed about the "other side of the coin"

MY OPINION IS: maybe crouch will come good, but im sick of reading "have faith in rafa" ...benitez has not done anything special in the transfter market in the last 13months... ur still caught up in champions' league hysteria. he is a master tactician and 2nd to non in man-managment, but again... not exactly an arsene wenger in the transfer market.
we've only won it 5 times

i think this is a great buy, lets face it, there is a team out there that is buy up all the good players just so other teams can not buy them, and i think that this one has been missed by them

Pablo, for all of Wenger's astute buys, there are always the Jermain Pennants, the Francis Jeffers (10 million?) etc who were also expensive flops.

Let's see if he can unearth antoher Viera or Anelka at such bargains and turn out to be such world beaters. Chances are now it is much more difficult because of Wenger's successes at Arsenal, the asking price if Arsenal came knocking at the door would also be that much higher, if not as high as Chelsea's prices.

I think he's a fantastic signing. I've seen quite a lot of him, and one thing that's pretty astonishing given his height is that he's got tremendous touch and close control. He's a lot like Ibrahimovic in that respect.

At times he needs to be a bit more selfish, as he does have a tendency to pick out a pass instead of taking on a man, but he's got pretty good pace, has several inches on almost every central defender in Europe, is predictably superb in the air and has a pretty respectable shot on him. Yes, he's not the finished article, but there are not a lot of players around like him, and whichever one of our strikers you pair him with, there's something interesting there. Think of every single cross that's just floated over every one of our strikers over the last decade (including Heskey, he's 6" taller than him, let's not forget) - now we have a man in the box that can comfortably stick nut on every last one of them. :)

I look forward to all the doubters having their words rammed down their throats by our new scarecrow up front. Great, imaginative signing by Rafa, this.

I've slated Crouch and don't think we should have paid £7m but if Rafa thinks he's good enough then thats good enough for me, I will give him a chance to prove himself just like I would any other player that signs for LFC

Seems to me we have purchased the "White" Emile Heskey , tall , clumsy and long ball target??? Hey but what do I know, i didn't think we could win the Champions league (neither did Stevie G incidentallyyour honour ) :D.

7 million is a tad steep IMO but he does give us a few extra options up front and I personally believe that he will prove effective when we are on our travels in the Prem cos lets face it there were far too many continentals last season in the League who simply didn't fancy the fight ???

Anyone remember a man by the name of Duncan Ferguson who comes on late in games and nods goals in. ??.

Dalglish, please give the lad a chance.

I agree that ultimately 7 million is about 1.5 to 2 million too steep but Crouch did score more goals than Baros did in the league with a struggling team. Let's hope he does the business for us.

If he is going to be our answer to Duncan Ferguson, we paid 6.95 million too much. Although in honesty I think he is going to be a great addition, I hope he keeps Nando on the bench.

How is Crouch worth more than Morientes and Garcia?

he aint! simple as!.........

we were blackmailed into giving southampton a nice transfer kitty to spend in division one mate!

Rubber faced ,harry redknapp comment...."if LFc want him, they are going to have to pay up! "

Rick parry thought this was good business somehow? but not the small sum to Real madrid for a glimpse of that Figo magic for 1 or 2 seasons! what a hefty 2 m?

pablo, couldnt not agree more,

rafa has made MISTAKES! so far, look at Pellegrino, and Nunez, both now on way out after a poor season! and.......... playing harry Kewell in Champions league Final, i needed an extra 3 double vodka and tonics to get over the disbelief!

I think 2 million plus figo's wage demands and the fact that he is getting older not better compared to 7 million and the fact that crouch won't ask a retarded fee and his ability is getting better makes it look like we dished out on a better deal.

Figo is class, but we do not know how he will perform in the prem. Crouch we do, so why not " play it safe " I know its kind of a bold thing to say in this regard, but I believe its true

Hiya mate, I didn't think that my post portrayed the impression that i wasn't giving him a chance ?  ???

What i did fail to say when comparing him to Heskey was that in 2001 Treble winning season the clumsy Emile knocked in 20 goals so maybe like a lot of people who dismissed Emile we may be proved wrong !  :D
