However my reaction was uneeded and I therefore apologise to you but I fail to see what enormous gulf there is between Dudek & Reina, so if you would like to tell me that would be most helpful.

You can compare Pepe and Dudek with reagrd to blunders.
Dudek made more blunders - I know Pepe has only been with us a season but if he continues the way he has this season then he will make much less blunders than Dudek.

Now to answer you seriously.

If we look at Dudeks last few seasons, Reina is a MASSIVE improvement so far.

I must admit, when the season began, and I watched Reinas first few games, I thought, oh my, what has Rafa done

But soon despair turned into hope, certainly.

I have already mentioned where Reina is so much much better than Dudek, so have others, do you really want me to repeat everything?

I can not fathom how you don't see it? have you watched ALL of Liverpool's games this season?

You don't claim jersey is better than pepe, but haven't seen enough of pepe yet to say he's better than jersey - ehh??

You have not provided any justification/points or anything. Others posters in this thread have at least tried to explain and justify their point of view. yours is simply that Jersey made some spectactular saves in the ECL final (thank you dudek). If you ask me that just doesn't cut the mustard.

The majority of your responses in this thread have been in response to people calling you a numpty. and you inform them that this is a discussion forum... well what are you discussing? I don't see you doing any at all.

Regarding the point of this thread.

I am with the majority here. I definetly don't have as many heart palpitations with reina in front of goal as dudek, but its too early to tell for sure. I would love for some one to post what are the attributes of a good goal keeper. similar to the analysis that Stu posted in another thread.

I think one factor is Reina's age. He is still young and could concievable spend quite a few years defending the goal. He doesn't have to do much marshalling of the troops with JC standing in front of him screaming at everbody. It will be very interesting how he handles himself against a quality side without JC and Hyypia. When it happens he will have to be the general.

As for jersey, he quite simply always made me nervous. right from the start. Agreed his blunders against the bigger sides will stay in our mind a lot longer, then they should. But are we judging him unfairly because of it? I don't think so. His heroics in the champions league final were nothing short of extroadinary and he will always be a legend for it. Think about this way, when Gerrard got sent off against neverton, who would you have been happier to see in goal? Dudek or Reina?

Pepe for me, but will always be grateful to Dudek for all his work, but most especially for that magical night.

Dudek never made me nervous from the start infact the first couple of seasons he was a very reliable goalkeeper, and if I remember rightly he didnt make to many if any bloopers at all.
It all went down hill against ManUre, when they beat us at Anfield and Sally Gunnel (forlan) scored against him he had an absolute howler that day and lost most if not all his confidence.
From there on he never looked the same to me, I thought he was going to be our number one for a while as a keeper he had a lot of good technical attributes being, reflexes, shotsopping,handling, distribution of the ball and he wasnt bad with one on ones really. Dudek is much more of an agile keeper than Reina and has better spring in his step, which obviously helps when diving.
I havent been able to watch too many games this season so I cant draw to much comparison between them
but Reina definately has better command of his area, I know this and I,ve only seen him on a couple of occasions but thats aparent. Reina to me though doesnt look as Agile on his feet as Dudek does, and therefore looks a bit more slower/flat footed than Dudek.
Another thing that doesnt feel me with to much confidence when watching Reina is when he comes for crosses, sometimes the ball can become a bar of soap to him and I have seen him flap on a couple of occasions. Before any of you have a go, he obviously doesnt drop em all the time and I know more often than not he likes to punch, especially if the balls outside the six-yard area. I remeber David James dropping a few though and sometimes, they would cost us points.

At the end of the day I havent seen as much of Reina or Liverpool this year as I would of liked, but by the sounds of it he's doing an ok job. One thing he has got on his side is time and he can only improve if he keeps playing.

I have watched pratically all of them & whilst Reina is a class keeper for his age, he has done some mistakes & when I think about it if Dudek had the confidence of Reina he too would be on a similar level to Reina, it would also help if we got to see him play once in a while.

I can see what people mean when they call Reina the better keeper, because I for know have noticed that he commands his box & defence better than Dudek, so therefore perhaps he's the better keeper but I don't think the gulf between either player is as big as you n other make out, that's all I'm saying.

Jerzy didn't/doesn't command his area, hell even his 6 yard box like Pepe does, it's absolutely no contest to be honest..
