Here, in March 2006, Reina is far and away the best keeper we have at the club. And we are talking about a long, long way ahead of the other guys.

Dudek's best game against Reina's best game is a tight contest, I'll admit, but over a sustained fixture list, Dudek just doesn't have anything like the consistency.

Honestly, to anyone that has seen more than one game by the two players, it's an absolute no-brainer.

I do respect people's opinions, but anyone that is answering Dudek to this question is just wrong.

Dudek is a fine keeper and has done us great sevice,but he was too inconsistent.. thats why reina was brought in in the first place.
Reina in my opinion is a far better keeper than dudek.. but still we've got to respect players like dudek for their contribution to the club-the CL final as an example- he gave his best for the club and even though his best is in my opinion not good enough for the club... he did enuff to convince alot of supporters that he is a good keeper.. some rate him better than reina and believe that reina is only in the team coz he's spanish.
You just have to respect other peoples opinions as riduculous as they may seem to you -try to reason with them even with light banter, else ignore them.. its the whole point of a forum in the first place.

However I never said Dudek was as good as Pepe! I merely questioned is the gulf in class so wide that we should disguard Dudek as we have other keepers in the past! I also stated that I think Dudek has exceptional reflexes and I used his double save from shevshenko as proof positive of this. I firmly believe this was the greatest save ever by any keeper and giving the consequences of it for Liverpool, makes it all the more special. I also stated that I am yet to see a save of exceptional quality from Pepe that demostrated these lightning reflexes, and even went so far as to say that had Pepe been in goal in Istanbul, then he would not have made that save and we would have 4 instead of 5! And again, I think Pepe is great and deserves to be our Number 1 choice, but the way Jerzy has been treated leaves a bad taste in my mouth, that is all.....

i think that dudek is a world class keeper but from the saves i have seen from reina i think he is better his reaction to a ball being hit is very quick and he has pulled off some good saves this season. saying that i do agree with poolinc that dudek being put on bench dosent feel right. to me he is a hero because of champs league and to put a hero on the bench isn't right

But if you love Liverpool then you have to put the intrest of the club 1st ahead of any player, Dudek hasnt been treated badly he has had his finest moment and that is how he will be remembered, you cant play him through sympathy, fact is we have a better keeper now but nothing can ever take away what Dudek must have felt that night.

you cant judge a goalkeeper on one save, thats just ridicules and that seems to be your only case for Dudek.

And you forget if reina would have been in goal that night he would have flew out his box punched the ball clear and clattered shevchenko!!!! Reina spots danger before it happens thats why he is so good.

Its no contest really.Even when we signed Dudek and he had settled in i had a long running debate with my mate if he was even a vast improvement on Sander Westerveld? Dudek made too many errors and i was suprised that he actually lasted at the club after GH bombed out Westerveld for so many gaffes. For those out there who are thinking that the guy won us the champs league think again. The first goal by Maldini i reckon a top class keeper might have got to and he flapped when Traore had to clear off the line from Shevchenko. Granted he made a great save to stop them going 4-0 up and then was the hero of the shootout but the writing was already on the wall. Old news i know but what we have now is a much better keeper who doesnt seem to make too many errors and is very commanding and vocal. Great signing and i would defo put him in the top 3 keepers in the prem.
