Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Riquelme: Great class. lazy Bástard. I think that he must be the leader of the team he plays in, I see no compatibility with Gerrard.

Aimar: Argentinian Squad, that's to say something. He's a great player, but so is LG... I'm not sure wethere there's place for him in the team right now. I'll write more later, now I'm still at work.

Agreed.  And I'm not sure why we would want to wait for Aimar to bed into the side when Luis is already well established, knows the system and is making solid contributions.

If we were to sign Riquelme I think he'd do very well here. Gerrard would play out on the right side of midfield (but drifting all over the park like he usually does) with Alosno in the holidng rol and Riquelem in front of him. With Kewell or Gonzalez on the left that is one hell of a midfield.

You can forget about Riquelme right now, there's as much chance of us signing Gary Neville.

Riquelme would cost about 25 million with the reputation he has these days, god knows why Barce let him go.

Aimar is definitely faster than Garcia, maybe more skilfull than the spaniard. Personally, i would love to see him playing for Liverpool but to let garcia go just to make way for him.....i dont think so.

Riquelme's going to be very expensive. No way....

Without being funny, if we can buy a top-class right winger who will be a regular starter, we already have a better player to sit behind our front two.

His name is Steven Gerrard. :;):

Maybe cos they had Rivaldo and somehow the coach hardly use him at all.

The thing is John, we've all seen it when a player is shocking in one team, then moves and becomes utter class, and vice-versa.

A few examples:

Forlan,
Veron,
Kewell (under Houllier),
Diouf (still a punk though),
Cisse,
Morientes, etc.

Sadly, there is no formula to deduce who will flop, or who will fly.  :(

I think Aimar is a world class player if he is playing in slow none physical league, but i think he would be over run be the pace of the EPL, of cause he could show moments of brilance, but i don't think he would fit in over here. He is just too small. He would be like veron IMO

FORGET AIMAR WE SHOULD GET ROSICKY.
5 years he's played in germany and that is a physical and tactical league and he has made a reputation with a poor team which almost went bankrupt, also he is about same age as Riquelme, Garcia and Aimar.
plus REAL Madrid want him to be their new Zidane as baldy's past it now.

Rosicky's career is going backwards now, it's too late to sign him.  If he had moved to a bigger club and a better league earlier in his career he could have been a much better player imo, he's definitely talented.
