Michael Owen, the man destined to be England's top goalscorer, a proven international who can guarentee twenty a season in the league alone, who also pushed Morientes out of Madrid and spent much of last season making Ronaldo and Raul look pedestrian at best, would find it hard to get on your subs bench?

Experienced striker with good skills. Can hold the ball up well, has a clever shot and good in the air. Highly rated by Benitez and his teammates.

A new signing would definately struggle to get ahead of those 3 guys. Owen has no chance of getting past them. That's for sure. Why? It's all about style. Benitez would like to have strong target men. Players that threathen the defence on crosses and can keep the ball up well and get others into play. We will dominate 80% of the games and our opponents will defend deep. Against such opposition Owen is not the solution. The best way to break down defensive teams is to attack on the wings and get good crosses into the box. That is why Benitez has bought Crouch and Morientes.

Think i have missed it to, Cisse is a very exciting prospect who has a verocious shot and electric pace, but i have not seen anything to suggest he is decent in the air.
I would actually back Michael to score more headed goals in a season.

You honestly think that Rafa Benitez would turn round to Owen IF he signs and say "Sorry Michael, didn't want to get your hopes up, but I decided that seeing as you were only valued by a club that doesn't need you at around £15m and seeing as you would probably only score about 30 goals in all competitions, we should let a kid from the acadamy warm the bench because he needs the experience. I'm sure you'll understand, right? This has to be a wind up. Surely? Someone is saying here that Michael Owen, one of the greatest talents ever to be produced by Liverpool and England, would be confined to the reserves by Peter funking Crouch? I hope we sign him. Hes proven and 11 mill is a bargin especially if we sell baros.

He has better finishing ability than baros and ciise. He has a proven goal scoring record better than most in the premiership and anyone who thinks we dont need him is wrong ("in my opinion"). Not to mention he is english and we could do with a few more english players.

Another argument is that baros doesnt seem to be interested especially with his comments last season about getting stroppy when he is dropped and saying he wants to leave and stuff. At least Owen has gone and has learned the only place he will be loved and respected is liverpool.

Owen
Sinama

That is a great strike force.

To be honest Banana your fighting a losing battle, as mentioned before the MAJORITY of liverpool fans WANT Michael Owen.

Our strike force is large but also injury prone and not strong. I would say only Cisse has the potential to be better than Owen

If you think Cisse, Morientes and Crouch are enough to challenge for the title - your wrong. Injuries happen, look at Crouch already and the season hasn't even properly started.

I never said Rafa would cave in to the opinion of masses, I was stating a fact that the majority of Liverpool fans, the ones who realise his ability, want Owen back

Oh yeah forgot to say, we also have Pongolle and Mellor in the first team squad too. Rafa prob thinks he can utilise these strikers, as i dont see them heading for the door! athough injured right now.

I dont like Owen personally, he'd probably demand a first team start every game, and i think rafa wants to rotate things this season.
