Owen - New deal imminent?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I really hope that the following is true because everyone knows that it will be to the benefit of liverpool football club.

Speculation concerning the future of Michael Owen has made an inevitable return, with Sunday reports claiming the much-coveted 24-year-old will finally make a bid to start negotiations in the near future. According to the Sunday Express, the England star will meet with adviser Tony Stephens next week to discuss upcoming contract negotiations with his Anfield employers.

With Chelsea and Real Madrid seen as viable destinations for the Liverpool forward, the Merseyside club are desperate to discuss a new deal with a player who now has just 16 months remaining on his current contract.

I've discussed both sides of the argument as to whether michael should be sold or not, but if his wants to stay then every effort should be made to keep him at the club. it's debatable as to what kind of a fee we would get for him now anyway.
