Out of our reserves, who can make it? - In the next few years...

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

3 Players that I believe can be promoted to the first team in the next few seasoons.

Kelly - Every time I see him he has looked fantastic. Can play all along the back four. A possible future replacement for Carragher?

Nemeth - Scoring goals for fun in Greece. Could be a good backup for Torres.

Pacheco - He has improved every season and looks in a completely different league to the rest of the reserve league.

We also have Jesus Fernandes Saez coming over in January. Only 16 years old and havent actually seen him play yet but he is very very highly rated as one of the best young spanish potentials since Fabregas.

And also that Portugese lad that we stole from Chelsea  :D  He had a trial for them and he passed it but we gave him a better offer than Chelsea.

Cooling my interest recently over Nemeth. He is barely a "youngster" anymore.  He will be 21.5 by the start of next season.

Have been very impressed with our newest summer raid of PSG, Chris Mavinga. Has been excellent in every game for the reserves at CB. Lots of pace and seems to win every challenge. Could be a bit short for CB in the PL, but he plays LB too (although he hasn't featured much over there because we are short at CB in the reserves)

Butchmann was named one of the top 10 rising stars U18 years of age by UEFA. Can play LB and LW

Jack Robinson is another LB who plays above his age for England youth teams.

There is also this mystery 16 year old Danish kid, Nickolaj Kolhert that has skipped U16 and U18s and plays for the reserves. But he is mostly on the bench and a very late sub so I haven't seen much of him, but its very interesting that someone so young wouldn't be put into the academy.

And this Suso kid that is coming scores for fun in spanish youth teams, so thats encouraging. Although I am sure they have a kid at each level that scores for fun. Some become Fernando Torres, others I am sure are more like Danny Guiza or worse. (not to put down Guiza)

Other than the obvious one in Pacheco, I'd say Kelly is the next best prospect right now. Both are intelligent and capable players who I can see playing regular top level football in the years to come.

I'm not all that convinced by the others, although Mavinga has done very well, I'd like to see a bit more of him. He has a lot of physical work still to do if he wants to be a top level CB.

I think Kelly and Pacheco have a good chance. Kelly done well against Lyon and that wasn't even his normal position. But im gagging to see Pacheco play in the first team.

Well one who noone has mentioned that i think is a crackin little player is stevie irwin.
Always rated him - well for the two years i have seen him,
Often played out of position but has always excelled as right back when made to play there.
My mom against hull from centre midfield.
Good range of passing, two good feet, tenacious in the tackle and comfortable in a number of positions.

Great little player (so far) for me.

4 players....

1)Kelly to stake a claim as our new right back in the near future (so that johnson can more into RW).

2)Ayala to understudy carra and eventually replace. Understand that he is pretty good in the air......so we have the spanish sami hyppia

3)Pacheo - The support striker position will be a right fit for him....to understudy gerrard.

4)Nemeth - a profilic striker.....understudy to torres.

Hope Kelly and Ayala make the stepup to the 1st team soon...our defence is all over the place.

Is that true ? And is there a reason why he rejected a new contract ?..FFS, he only just got a sniff of first team action and he thinks he's got the right to go where he pleases....
If I remember correctly he's a boyhood Manc Scum fun, no ?
