Glenn Hysen wasn't a flop.

He cost £600,000 from Fiorentina (around £4million in todays market) and while he never played as well for Liverpool as he did in Italy, he was a valuable part of the 1990 team.

He fell out with Souness and was quickly shown the door.

Rigobert Song did ok given the money paid out to him, and Torben Picniek didn't cost much.

I would class a bad signing as someone who gave little or no return on the money paid out for him and to my mind the big buys by Graeme Souness were the worst signings in Pool history.

Paul Steward and Julian Dicks were very bad signings as they cost a lot of money at the time and gave nothing to the team.

Clough and Saunders were massive disapointments but at least they contributed something with a few goals.

In recent times Heskey has flopped, Biscan was far too expensive, and Ziege was an expensive mistake.

However, as things stand, the three signings of summer 2002 were bad signings as GH could have used his transfer budget of that summer to turn Liverpool into potential champions, but he dropped the ball in a big way.

56 goals in about 220 appearances for heskey. that's sh#te when you consider he got 25 in his first season here.

Diouf's been a sh##e signing for the money.  How many goals has he scored.  At least Heskey can cause havoc when he's on his game.  Dioufs just s##t, and expensive s##t at that.

i would not say saunders was a disappointment. He scored a lot of goals for a very weak liverpool team. He was 1 of the reasons why we went on to win the FA CUP in the 1990s.....

Still a little confused why liverpool sold saunders to villa. Saunders and rush could have been a good partnership.

yeah but when you look at the number 7's who played for liverpool down the years, i.e. keegan, dalglish, beardsley, you have to say that clough and saunders weren't exactly in the same league.

Maybe if he was given more time, he might have done more. He played 1 full season, then was shipped off to villa soon after. not given enuff time to settle if u ask me.
