Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby akumaface » Tue Apr 07, 2009 6:47 pm

I'm not from Liverpool or anywhere close but for me living far far away, the only time i care or cheer for Everton is when they play either Chelsea, Arsenal or the Manscum. I don't hate Everton as much as I hate Manscum and Chelsea. To people living outside of England, i would have to agree that nobody cares as Everton is in fact a small club. Maybe to those BS fans who celerate more when we lose than when they win, they live a tough life. As some of you had mentioned the older generation are more open to talk to but the younger ones aren't. This is probably because it is something for them to channel their anger or displeaure about their life. Also, i believe the older generation have more respect about people than the current cyber generation. Many are really disfunction and hide behind a computer without any social activity. Anyway, their team can't do it for them thus hope somebody can do it for them. Simple as that.

everton fans are a joke its that simple, they are a sh.it team and cant live with the fact were tens times what they will ever be
if the most enjoyment you have all season is seeing your local rivals suffer then i pity them

You would have to ask them to unearth the problem. To me it's just because we are Bigger better club and it stems from there.

Just wait till they move to Kirkby
That will be the end of them

I watched an interview with Robbie Fowler the other night over here on a Rugby League program. They brought him on as a special guest and amongst asking him a few questions they asked him who are Liverpools biggest rivals.

He mentioned Everton as they'r only a stones throw away away from Liverpool but in his opinion he thinks Manchester United are the biggest rivals of Liverpool.

I might go and watch him play for Townsville this season, then at least I will of been to a live game.

i'm sure there are some that still have the pride of merseyside in there hearts and would be glad we won the champ or even the league but i think the point is that they are getting very few and far between now

Why should they? They are our rivals, I'd be rather worried if an Everton fan praised my football team on a performance, result, accolade.

Everton wish Liverpool the very worst and Liverpool wish Everton the worst. Isn't that what rivalry about?

My old man's an Everton suporter. Has been for years.

I remember the days when Merseyside derby's had scarfs with the two colours on, red and blue scarves all over the place. Hard to believe so much has changed in just 25 years.

It used to called the "friendly derby", according to Andy Grey anyway.  :D

But, I think it's only a small element of "new" fans that are the cause of most of the wankery. Which, sadly, can be said for most clubs these days. Fair weather supporters who feel it's necessary to buy into the bile.

Personally, I've absolutely nothing against Everton. I think they're a decent side and Moyes has done well with what he's got.

Everton are known as bitters for a reason. Only there fans would pay to attend a match Liverpool are involved in. Look at the fan in the Real Madrid crowd at Anfield. He cannot lose face if Liverpool win (he lost that when he became a bitter !) but he was there in the hope that Liverpool did lose, also there was a bitter dancing with the Milan fans when they beat us in the Euro final. Its funny to a point, its funny how they are an Everton supporter but that means support anyone else anywhere in the world as long as they beat Liverpool. So that support is never 100% if it meant Everton to lose a match so that Liverpool miss out would they do it? of course they would, and this is where it is no longer funny. To support Everton is to give your life to resentment for the closest (I say closest, I mean only) rival the club has. And then its no longer about football, its about ensuring your life from then on is given over to spending the rest of your life in hate. Its how things currently stand in this present rivalry. I can only hope it doesnt get worse, but im guessing it will.

How do you know that wasn't a Real fan being a bollox with an Everton scarf?

And a Milan fan doing the same? No, like I said, only the bitters would go to that length.

Yeah but thats only a small minority who are dragging the whole thing down - Like toneyh has said i still have friendly banter about it within my family and with mates and i know they would want us to beat the mancs no matter what - they would prefer to see the trophies in the city of liverpool as opposed to the city of manchester .
