I can't accept the arguement that Rafa isn't playing to Crouch's strengths. Crouch doesn't have any strengths. The lad is treading water frantically (he way out of his depth) and tiring fast.

do we need a further left sided midfielder when Riise and Kewell can more than adequately fill that role

What happens when Riise gets injured? Are you going to play on the left-wing for us? And how long will Kewell last injury free? Past history suggests not very long.

Gonzalez and even Gerrard can play in that position. Zenden was signed because he provides cover for more than one position. He can play as a winger and as a left central midfielder.

Sorry but i agree with him, I dont think there is anything special about crouch apart from his unfeasable resemblance to Timmy

Everyone's entitled to their opinion mate, but it's easy to kick a guy when he's down.  Judge Crouch at the end of the season, not after 10 games, especially when most of those games he played as a lone striker in a team that wasn't functioning properly as an attacking unit.

Benitez and Erikkson have put their faith in him, and they know a hell of a lot more about football than you or I.

Hey, I'd love for Crouch to prove me wrong but for a team to finish at the top it requires consistently good performances. If, at the end of the end of the season, Crouch is a consitent scorer or provider of goals, I'll take my hat off to him.
