I just found this story any truth in it I hope not ?

Torres hints at Italy interest

Liverpool hero Fernando Torres hopes to play Serie A and Bundesliga football in the future.

The Reds goal-machine has hinted that he could secure a move to either Italy or Germany before the end of his career in order to try to shine in all of Europe's biggest leagues.

The news could be a blow for the Kop, who are desperate to keep their Spanish star at the club for as long as possible.

But the forward does not plan to hang up his boots as a Liverpool player just yet, as he is determined to establish himself in the top European leagues before returning to his first club Atletico Madrid.

Torres told Don Ballon: “Well, within a few years I would like to play in Italy, try Serie A football in order to complete my CV by experiencing spells in all three big European leagues – the Spanish one, the English one and the Italian one, and the German one is also a good league."

“To me Bayern Munich is a very attractive club, even if moving there would be far into the future,” he added.

“Moves are part of football and even if I do not want to do it for the sake of it, I would like to go to Italy and Germany before I return to Spain, to play for Atletico of course.”

Torres has turned his back on a possible big-money move to Real Madrid, and played down Los Merengues’ prestige.

“To me, Real Madrid are not bigger than anyone. They are like Barcelona, Milan, Bayern, Inter...They are another great team,” he added. “I do not pay much attention to them but to my past as a Rojiblanco.”

The striker was then asked if he has already said ‘yes’ to join Real to their probable future president Florentino Perez.

“First I would say ‘yes’ to my girlfriend, not to him because I cannot see myself playing for Real Madrid,” he said.

'El Nino' is apparently happy at Anfield and he is determined to pay back the home fans for their unconditional support.

“I would be happy to remain a Liverpool player for many years to come because I am very good here,” Torres said. “Still four years are remaining on my contract after this one.

“The club have treated me tremendously and I owe the supporters a lot because they make me feel like I am going to stay here forever.

“They do treat me like [Steven] Gerrard or [Jamie] Carragher, which is impressive! I hope I will pay them back for their support by winning The Premier League they have been waiting for for a while."

“No, they do not do that there,” he said when asked if his contract includes a buy-out clause. “They seal transfers when two clubs reach an agreement.”

The guy has ambitions, you can't fault him for that.

By the time, if/when he decide to leave, hopefully by than Liverpool FC would be so big, it can attract such or a better talent when El-Nino was in his prime.

Poor journalism. The original Interview in Spanish has questions and answers.

The SSN journo instead makes introductions to the quotes, and then pretends to stablish a cronological order in those quotes when he uses phrases like "and then was asked" which are misleading, at best. For instance the bit about Germany is not a key one in the interview, and is an answer for an hypothetical question "What after Liverpool?" and the hinted interest for Germany, is actually a surprised retort of the journo. That is, Torres answers other possible targets had he had to leave Liverpool, and besides Italy and Spain, he mentions Germany. And the journo is surprised and asks, Germany? and then Torres talks about the respect Bayern has.

That question is asked after Torres announces he'd like to stay MANY seasons here because he's very comfortable here.

That question is asked after Torres says this

"“First I would say ‘yes’ to my girlfriend, not to him because I cannot see myself playing for Real Madrid,”

This is awfully translated, he said "I'd rather say "yes" to my gf in the altar than to him".

Which means, "it will really be difficult that my gf convinces me to the altar, but that will happen before me being a white". It's the kind of thing you say when you want to dismiss something completely.

In a nutshell: When you're a Spanish red fan and you read the Don Balon interview, you smile.

When you read the English article you are worried. why? Because that's the goal of the journalist, and that's what they always do with Liverpool Fc.

Say, for instance, this super line of the journo

The news could be a blow for the Kop, who are desperate to keep their Spanish star at the club for as long as possible.

The Reds are not desperate to keep Torres. The reds know Torres is comfortable here and is dismissing offers from Madrid, City, and whatever offer comes.

It's you fúcking journo who are desperate to see Torres out of Liverpool, as that makes Liverpool strong. Get your facts right.

But the forward does not plan to hang up his boots as a Liverpool player just yet,

"Just yet", no :censored: ,"just yet" no. He has said he'd like to be here A LOT of seasons.

Even the Mail has picked this one up now. But that girlfriend part is indeed poor reporting. However even if it was spoken in a hypothetical context he should know better than to even speak of playing elsewhere.

What bothers me is now all the papers will at some point over the next week puck this story up and twist it into something it is not and will probably end in Torres having to come out and reiterate his commitment to us. All I'm saying is this is not what we need at this stage of the season. Bloody media always turn things around. I could strangle the guy who wrote this.

to be honest its a bit sickening that he feels lfc fans are so needy of his reassurances ???

best thing is just to ignore this kind of :censored:

Words are words. Facts are facts.

The are players who'll kiss their badge, say the most beautiful things about the club and swear eternal love.

And then be happy to join Real Madrid, like CR7, or City, like Robinho

There are others who do not care much of interviews, and Torres doesn't have that natural ability to bullfight with the media. But they dismiss Real Madrid and City mega offers.

I preffer a player like Torres, whose words might not be the best, but his facts speak for himself. I don't think many players could resist the "call of the millions" of Real Madrid. Torres does without losing the smile. And that fact counts more than 1000 nice words.

Pinch of salt, plenty of footballers make bold statements about their future and yet could easily change their mind in a few years time. Didn't diving portugeser say he'd like to play for Real Madrid one day and has been linked with them every transfer window since? And Gerrard says he wants to end his career at Anfield, it would be rare indeed for a footballer to play for only one club at the top level his whole career.

Walk on: Liverpool hero Torres admits he'll leave Anfield for Italy or Germany

By Sportsmail Reporter
Last updated at 4:08 PM on 07th April 2009

Fernando Torres admits he is already looking at new challenges and fancies a shot at playing in Italy and Germany.

But the Liverpool striker insists there is no truth in rumours that he will join Real Madrid in the summer - the rivals of his boyhood team Atletico.

Torres is determined to win the Barclays Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool, but will stun his Anfield worshippers by admitting he has eyes for other admirers.

'Within a few years I would like to play in Italy, try Serie A football in order to complete my c.v by experiencing spells in all three big European leagues – the Spanish one, the English one and the Italian one, and the German one is also a good league,' the 25-year-old told Don Balon magazine.

While Torres insists he has a special connection with the Liverpool fans, he is pragmatic when it comes to the future.

'Moves are part of football and even if I do not want to do it for the sake of it, I would like to go to Italy and Germany before I return to Spain, to play for Atletico of course.

'To me Bayern Munich is a very attractive club, even if moving there would be far into the future.'

Torres is contracted to Liverpool for four more seasons and there is talk of a new deal in the offing following Rafa Benitez, Steven Gerrard and Dirk Kuyt tying themselves to the club in the last few days.

Florentino Perez, the man who expects to regain his position as Real Madrid president in the summer, is an admirer, but Torres has spoken disparagingly of the Spanish champions in the past and took the opportunity to again belittle Atleti's rivals.

'To me, Real Madrid are not bigger than anyone. They are like Barcelona, Milan, Bayern, Inter...They are another great team,' he said. 'I do not pay much attention to them but to my past as a Rojiblanco (Atletico player).

'I would say yes to my girlfriend, not to him (Perez) because I cannot see myself playing for Real Madrid.'

The Spain international is delighted by how the Anfield faithful have taken to him and he is determined to pay them back by delivering a long-awaited league title before eventually breaking their hearts.

'I would be happy to remain a Liverpool player for many years to come because I am very good here,' said Torres.

'The club have treated me tremendously and I owe the supporters a lot because they make me feel like I am going to stay here for ever.

'They treat me like (Steven) Gerrard or (Jamie) Carragher, which is impressive! I hope I will pay them back for their support by winning the Premier League they have been waiting for for a while.'

:no

The worst part of those misunderstandings is not that they can't understand you. It's that they don't want to understand you. Disgusting.
