LFC.tv:
Fernando Morientes completed his medical and signed a three and a half year contract with Liverpool Football Club on Thursday afternoon.
The former Real Madrid striker underwent a medical on Thursday morning and put pen to paper on a deal just before 5pm on Thursday.
Liverpool Football Club spokesman Ian Cotton told liverpoolfc.tv: "Fernando Morientes is now officially a Liverpool player and will be unveiled at a press conference on Friday."

MORIENTES WILL PLAY AGAINST MAN UTD
Rafael Benitez will have no hesitation in pitching Fernando Morientes into Liverpool's weekend clash with Manchester United, should the striker complete his transfer in time.
The club are awaiting the results of a medical Morientes underwent at Melwood today.
He'll then need to receive international clearance and be registered as a Liverpool player before being eligible to face United at Anfield on Saturday.
Benitez is confident there will be no hold-ups and he's excited at the prospect of seeing his fellow Spaniard pull on a red shirt.
"He is important to us. He is good in the air, he is a good finisher and can shoot with both feet. We need a target man with experience - for the supporters, for the team and for the players," says Benitez.
"He is not the quickest, but he can play with Baros and they could form a good partnership because one is good in the air and the other is quick. He also has the mentality to go straight into a game like Saturday's if necessary.
"I have been hearing about the things he has said, that he wants to come and he wants to play as soon as possible.
"He is a very good player and when a player like that plays for Real Madrid it is very difficult to sign him because normally they don't want to go.
"But he was allowed to join Monaco last season where he played well and gained more confidence, then he went back to Madrid and said: 'OK, if I don't play a game I will leave.'
"Now he has the best mentality for us because he wants to play well and prove himself. He is training normally and he is fit. He played the last five minutes against Atletico Madrid, but you need full games if you aren't playing normally.
"I am sure he won't be in the best condition, but he will be OK and little by little he will get even better."
