Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Welcome Dirk "Diggler" Kuyt. Hope he settles well and quickly. thing is im now unsure of our starting forwards........... to many to choose. Guess FSP doesn't get a look in now. He'll have to settle for a loan spell at Portsmouth.

Now that Kuyt has arrived our team really looks awesome with quality cover in every position. I am sure that effectively Rafa will choose what he believes is the best team and formation for each game. There is no need to worry about Chelsea anymore. I think Liverpool looks more balanced and ready for every eventuality than JM's team. Furthermore, another benefit these days is that Rafa has taken so long and so much care about collecting a great set of players at the 'Pool that I can't see him leaving and starting all over again for many many years to come....Move over Mourinho...Abhamovitch's millions bought you success, but now you're second best to a man and a team  that used brains and commitment in the pursuit of success rather just money!

Kuyt is a great signing for us, despite a poor world cup performace, Raffa will get the best out of him. He scores lot of goals, and some excellent goals at that.
We now have 4 strikers, with 2 of them in my honest opinion to be good enough for Premiership winners. Kuyt and Bellamy.

OFFICIAL?

I thought Rafa was on the "verge" of signing him. THey may not agree personal terms and it might fall through!

Wasn't that impressive in the world cup, and never scored last night in Hollands 4-0 win over Rep of Ireland.

CIGGY most expensive signing? 10m is the fee isnt it?

Surely this topic could have gone in the "Dirk Kuyt a done deal topic" no?

You attention seeker CIGGY.

I like Kuyt.  I think his a very good player.  Not the best striker in Holland as Huntelaar is better but I still think Kuyt will do well.

He is an aggressive player, but I don't like the way he flops to the ground with his size, I am thinking we have a new Hesky, although Kuyt got so many goals by putting away the garbage tap ins over the past years, something Hesky drove me mad with.

think i read somewhere he had 2 assists to his name last year at Feyenoord - can anyone shed any light on what form these took, crosses from wide positions, little balls fed in to a speed striker (Kalou now at Chelski), or just good one-twos with breaking midfielders? Just want to get a sense for who he will work best with, upfront by himself, crouch, bellamy, fowler??

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
