Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Yes totally agree.

I mean how s##t can you get not beating one europes best an englands best side on there own pitch.

its totaly unnacceptable.

If Liverpool FC are seriously thinking about Champion's League football next season, then they will have to find a way to beat a team like that and others like them. If not, then what's the point of finishing fourth only to enter the CL and struggle against the elite?

everytime we are leading 1 up against opponents, we tend to stop attacking, sit back & defend...this is the worst mistake, but think this is what GH instructs the team to do. Does GH think 1 goal up is good enough to win matches..personally attack is the best form of defence, it put the opponents under pressure in case they concedes another, if we keep sitting back & allows them to come at us, even the worst team might score...just in case GH doesn't know, your defence su*ks big.

The change was clearly at half time, Houllier is probably the worst manager ever for rallying the team in the break..
We were beaten by the one man team of Henry, we were leading twice and scored two goals away to the #1 English side which I think is an achievement in itself.

OK OK.

I think most people weren't really expecting a win against Arsenal who will almost certainly win the title, but Liverpool must now get over this and win their remaining fixtures.

Others from Arsenal besides Henry had chances to score.  If it weren't for Dudek, Ljungberg could have had one himself in the first half.  Arsenal's attack was fluid, but that is because like everyone had observed, we sat back to defend after scoring the first goal and let them control.  Once we gain possession, we expected Owen to out run 3-4 defenders for the long ball.  It's amazing that Owen has scored 14 league goals this year under Houllier's system.

The way pires and henry run at the liverpool defence says a lot. The Defence suck. Its time to bring back Henchoz. Hyppia cannot function with Henchoz.

And as for GH, Liverpool were ok in the 1st half. In the 2nd Half, they were sh##e....GH must be the worst motivator i have ever seen.

What the f##king use of having Owen,  Kewell, Diouf and Steven Gerrard if liverpool keeps playing defensive ????

When it was time to play Defensive against Marseille He plays attacking with 10 men. When it is time to keep up the attacking tempo against arsenal........ This sucks......

GH is f##kin the team up, I swear we better get a class manager nest season. GH is a f##kin unpopular and thick manager who can't do s##t for his life. Maurino is my 1st choice and MON is my 2nd.

OMG, at this rate, I'm gonna blow, we are so s##t. I bet every halftime, the LFC dressing room is so dull and no one gives a rats *****

To make judgements from the away result against the top team in England who are 7 points clear is pointless. We went there and came away with as much as could reasonably have been expected. No other Premiership team has beaten Arsenal this season, why did we think we would be the first?

What we should judge Houllier on is : -

P58 W22 D17 L19 PTS 83

This more than allows for the games we might expect to come away with nothing from. It may be slightly improved if I throw in other competition results, but league form is what it is about. IF we win the last six games we will have 3 more points than last season but that is a big IF. Even if we manage fourth I declare that form is not good enough and we will only get fourth because the other 16 teams below the top three were worse than us. Houllier should go now while he still has past glories to gain some respect and dignity for. If he continues in this form then he will have no right to any respect.

You've made a good point Owzat, one that many people seem to miss when we get beat.
GH is not being judged just on the Arsenal game (which I actually thought we might have won given the bad run Arsenal have had recently!).
No! GH is being judged on his overall performance (see the stats) his lack of motivational ability, his poor tactics, bad choice of players and endless excuses.
Why does he sit back and praise Arsenal and tell us that they are the best in the country - and the team we should aspire to compete with. Five years ago he promised us that we would be the best team in the country and the one everyone else would be chasing.
He DID say we would win the premiership under his five year plan.
The truth is we are a poorer side now than we were two years ago and if it wasn't for the great form of Stevie G this year we would be at least 12 points worse off and lower down the pecking order.
That's what people are judging GH on my friends. The Arsenal result is just the catalyst needed to release the frustration felt by us all.
In all my years of watching I have never felt so disappointed in what is going on at Anfield.
It is time for David Moores, GH, and the entourage and hangers on that support them to leave the club and allow real people with passion skill and honesty...above all honesty! to take over.

Dont understand whats the whole deal in giving Houllier any more life line. In the business industry when a sales manager doesnt reach the target he gets the boot regardless of his reasons coz bottom line is results. All the more a football club if he is passionate bout Liverpool which I seriously doubt, he should just move over and let someone else give it a try. Maybe its just not working out 4 him, be a man and move over its the greater good that matters. We aint gonna sit and watch him fumble and stumble coz to hell we paid the price and cheered the lads. This rot has gotta stop somewhere otherwise i've wasted all my time screamin and fightin 4 nothing. It is my business coz I've invested my time and money if the board does not have us there goes their revenue as well.

If we finish 4th this season and get into the CL. He'll stay and get the support of the board and the money to spend and we will be in a different situation next season.

Never mind 4th spot he should still be shown the door.

As owzat said 83 points in 58 games is just unacceptable.

Even if he has money to buy better players i dont think he can bring the best out ouf them as its proven with so many current players(a whole bunch of players french or from french league.) Furthermore, u dont have to have better players than arsenal to beat them, GH already lost the mental battle agains Wenger!!

It's really straight forward.
Can you see Houllier holdng up the League Trophy?
Can you ever see him holding up the Chamions League Trophy?

If you can't, then he has to go NOW!
