Knowing our dire financial straits, we'd be hard pressed to buy a copy of the Qu'ran !  :D

I cant see anyone coming in, but would be delighted with the turk.
Not so much with the greek.
If we ended up signing a rb and ignoring the strikers again it would be just plain stupid.

what a :censored: transfer window this is. not just for us either.

bbc:

They estimate only £21m has been spent in the January transfer window so far, compared to £170m last year and £150m in January 2008. There haven't been any £10m signings this year and only one for £5m, which Spurs paid Portsmouth for Younes Kaboul.

pants.

To be honest, it's good to see a bit of sense back in the transfer market. Even better, those money grabbing leeches (agents) won't make much off it...

Most people seem to forget that we are still in or just coming out of a worldwide recession. Just like all businesses most football clubs are cutting back on expenditure in order to ensure their long term survival.

Shame its not a striker. Just another Greek defender.

What is the point in us buying another right back when we already have Johnson, Degan, Kelly and Darby in our squad. In another month all 4 should be fit.

Agreed...it's madness....unless Rafa is throwing caution to the wind and plans to deploy him alongside Kuyt up front !!

B0ll0x this is, not even a striker to play with Torres poor lads gonna keep getting
injured before summer comes.

Torres is a sitting duck when 4 defenders are up for kicking the s'hit out of a loan striker.

Don't agree. I think we've needed a reliable back up at RB for 2 seasons now.

Last season with Arbeloa injured we had Skrtel and Mascherano at RB. Arbeloa went, Johnson joined.

Kelly looked promising, Darby had one poor game, and one good one but both are inexperienced youths. Degen can be discounted as a player who will never be reliably fit and will probably retire on medical grounds. Carra's done well this season filling in but would be more useful at CB.

It's a six month loan deal I believe so it shouldn't reduce the chances of getting another striker.
