NEWCASTLE VS LIVERPOOL - Build up here

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby stmichael » Fri Feb 09, 2007 3:00 pm

All the takeover talk this week has almost overshadowed the fact that we have a massive game coming up tomorrow against the Geordies.

They're a poor side defensively so don't be surprised to see us revert to the three at the back again which has served us well in recent away games.

                                    Reina

                Carragher      Hyypia         Agger

          Finnan         Alonso       Gerrard        Riise

                     Crouch      Kuyt     Bellamy

A win is vital as any slip up will probably see us slipping down to 4th in the League below Arsenal. I'll go for a 2-0 win.

On paper, this is an easy win.

But then, so was last Saturday.

Much better performace required from our front 3rd. I expect to see Crouch, Bellamy and Kuyt start, even though Rafa seems to have something against playing anyone against their ex-clubs.

Seeing as Alonso is suspended, (SMike! :D) I would go for the following lineup, assuming Momo and Aurelio are still unfit:

                                                                   Reina

                                      JC                           Sami                        Agger

Finnan                                                                                                                               Riise
                                                  Gerrard                      Zenden

                        Bellamy                                                                       Kuyt
                                                                   Crouch.

Defensive solidity, and more than a sprinkling of attacking threat.

Just hope Bolo is up for it, as he'll get a few knocks against this lot.

As stmichael said they have a :censored: defence so I'd expect a good win here, if Fulham can put three past them we should get four, but Newcastle at St James always put on a good show on against the top4 (as they showed the Mancs). It's a tough one to call but I'm gonna go for 3:1 to the lads with Kuyt and Gerrad getting one each. Duno about the third but I'm hoping its Bellamy!

I'm sweating this one [when don't I worry?], we're going to miss Xabi immensely.

They have a :censored: back four but they nicked a point off Manure at their ground, so it's no walk in the park.

Every match from now to the end is a potential banana skin!
But realistically we should more than enough for them in all areas of the pitch..yeah we will miss Alonso but missing him is nothing compared to their list of injuries..ffs you'd think their team coach hit a artic lorry.

Only one outcome for me 3 points to the REDMEN...but i say that evey game!

3-1 LFC! :)

I can't see them scoring so I'll go for 3-0 !

I think the lads will do well tomorrow, as they must be very :censored: off about dropping two points to the Liverpool Blues ;-)
plus they all need to impress the new owners.

Have to disagree there mate! LFC the club as a whole or players do not have to impress anyone...we have been doing that since 1892!

Its the new owners that need to impress LFC and us fans!

Hope your right with the score though!

try firing this up Redhaysey about 10-15 mins before K.O.  It usually comes up trumps.  The quality varies but at least its a better bet than the wireless. (you open/save the sopcast app. then install. Refresh the page with the streams on and wait a few mins for buffering)
