you know its sad when posters choose to accuse a newbie of being a banned member or a WUM just because they disagree with them.

Anyway this subject is about the new manager and who would you have. I'd have Martin O'Neill. He knows the league, knows the players and has an excellent record wherever he's been. I think he is a mile ahead of all the other options. No doubt people won't like him because he talks funny or is too small or has curly hair or something, but I think he'd make a brilliant manager for us.

Its not the invention of posting under a Nom De plume ... its the embarrassment of having your cover completely blown by using the same style of posting as you did under a similar tag

He got Celtic to a European final where they were robbed, he broke the Rangers diomination up there. He did a fantastic job at both Wycombe Wanderers and Leicester. I also think he's done an excellent job at Villa. Who would have thought when he took over that they'd end up finishing above us in the league. He'd be my pick all day long.

ffs, is it really important? i haven't seen a great deal of hiding. i haven't seen a great deal of denial. i haven't seen a great deal of winding people up. i haven't either seen proof of these two being who people say they are.

all i'm seeing is a bunch of posters patting themselves and each other on the back for 'uncovering' something pretty meaningless.

I think as far as the new manager goes there's no point in saying someone who has just taken a job somewhere else, or saying someone who isn't available. It's far better to concentrate the search on any managers who it is possible MIGHT be available. There's no given that Mertin O'Neill is definately open to offers, but I think he would be tempted if we offered it to him. Like Hodgson, I think he'd have us up there challenging for the ECL slots at the end of this season coming.

He'd be ok and would get us back into the top four for sure. I'm not convinced though that he'd win the title at Liverpool. He's also tended to buy british players at Villa so would he splash the cash big if new owners came in? Also Villa were not the most entertaining of sides last season they have too many home draws too the same problem that prevented Liverpool winning the title in 08-09. My view on O'Neill on the whole would be no.
