I KNOW IT SOUNDS STUPID AND I AM BEHIND THE TEAM 100% TO GET 4TH, BUT I HAVE SPOKEN TO A FEW WHO WOULD PREFER IF WE MISSED OUT IN ORDER FOR HOULLIER TO LEAVE. ARE THEY TALKIN SENSE OR NOT??
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

It wont make any difference where they finish because he will still be in his job so we must roar the team on to 4th!

It is stupid...but you have to face it that Houllier will be staying at Anfield for another year, if you don't like it. Then tough!!

Its beginning to hack me off at the amount of posts in here reagrding GH and will he /won't he be going ...Who do you want to see manage LFC ..... 4th or Sack for Gh ........???

I can't understand anybody who wants to see LFC finish 5th so that GH will more likely be on his way , has it REALLY got THAT personal for you ? :(

Here is a manager who has indeed made mistakes but the vitriol and sometimes vicous posts about him in here are beyond the pale in my opinion. Ok he's made mistakes but even Souness who botched up big time with the team and his selling of his heart Op to the Sun didn't get this level of criticism and i find it sad that a man who has endured so much for this great club isn't afforded the luxury of a little respect.

I'm speaking not as a "GH Must Stay" advocate, I happen to agree he has probably taken us as far as he can but I will not decend to petty insults and certainly not wishing LFC could finish a  little lower.

Face FACTS, he's staying AND EVEN IF WE FINISH 5TH  he may keep his job . Even if he doesn't it will be twice as hard for any successor starting with no CL qualification and a plethora of players refusing to come to Liverpool as a result....

God forbid that some of you get what you wish for !!!!!!! ???

AS I HAVE SAID, I AM TOTALLY BEHIND THE TEAM GETTING 4TH AND I THINK IT WOULD BE TERRIBLE FOR THE CLUB IF WE WERE NO TO GET IT. I SIMPLY WOULD TO HEAR OTHER PEOPLES' OPINIONS ON THE ISSUE. I FEEL IT IS ALWAYS THE ORDER OF THE DAY FOR US FANS TO GET BEHIND THE TEAM AND MANAGER ESPECIALLY AT TIMES LIKE THIS WHEN THE KOP IS'NT FULL AT 3 ON A SATURDAY. I LIKE GERRARD HOULLIER,DON'T GET ME WRONG, HE'S A VERY NICE GUY, BUT I THINK THE GOALS HE HAS REACHED ARE GOING TO TAKE A NEW MANAGER TO EXCEED. NONETHELESS, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM STAY FOR 1 MORE YEAR IF WE QUALIFY FOR THE CHAMP'S LEAGUE.

Hi Strapo , not a personal dig at yourself but a general observation in here. take away the GH OUT posts and "Player of The Year" and what we left with ? ???

I agree we should always get behind the team but a lot of what i see in here is anything but , I'm sad to say. I;'m not advocating blind allegiance when things are obviously not going as well as we hoped it would just a little more originality in the posts.

As for the "empty Kop at 3" comment , I presume you mean at 3 PM exactly ? I've yet to see the Kop with empty seats all this season despite some of the drivel we have had to watch. There were empty seats in the ground on Easter Monday for the Charlton game which was noticeable but the Kop ?

Walk on ...........

My ideal scenario would be we finish 4th and houllier decides to step aside and give somebody else a go cuz with houllier we will never catch up with arsenal and chelsea by playing such defensive and pedestrian football.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.

4th, as lowly as it may seem to US is in fact now the holy grail for this season unfortunately.

Without it & CL Football we are NOT going to attract top grade players of the calibre we require to take us forward to the next level and compete with not only our domestic but foreign adversaries!

(Yeah sure we'll have the ability to attract premiership dross and foreign journeymen/well past their best players, offering between £30-£50k per week, with little or no transfer fee)

But are those the type we require?...IMO NO!

Surely we have enough of them in the squad already that need rooting out and off loading already!

So, let's qualify for the CL, Hope the board see's sense and offload's the current Management regime & give's the new encumbent the "War Chest" to invest how they see fit.

My last hope is that we don't go and spend the majority of it in GH's "Wonder Child" Cisse, nothing against the guy personally but anyone who want's to come even if there is no CL and personally state's it's because there's NO Nightlife in Auxerre would fall into my category of £30K per week for another BIG GH MISTAKE!

I think thats probabbly the most popular choice "A Day in the Life" but as i previously commented it's a sad sate of affairs when fans are hoping we finish 5th if it means GH's departure when even Souness didn;'t get this level of criticism !!!!

OKAY, IT WAS A STUPID COMMENT AND UNFAIR TO THE FANS. BUT, AT A LOT OF OUR GAMES, THERE SEEMS TO BE MANY EMPTY SEATS. I THINK YOU HAVE TO AGREE THAT THE REASON FOR THIS IS GH'S BORING GENRE OF FOOTBALL. EVERY WEEK, OUR PLAYERS LOOK LIKE THEY WANT TO PASS THE BALL BACKWARDS RATHER THAN PLAY GOOD ATTACKING FOOTBALL WHERE WE PLAY A FAST PACED GAME AND SPREAD THE BALL WIDE. IF WE CONTINUE WITH HOULLIER'S ''7-3-0 FORMATION'' THEN I'D BE AFRAID THAT EMPTY STANDS IS THE WAY WE'RE HEADING.

I ADMIRE YOUR OPTMISM AND I AGREE THAT THAT IS THE BEST SCENARIO, BUT THE FACT IS, THE BOARD IS WAY TO SOFT AND THEY ALREADY SET GH A MINIMUM TARGET OF 4TH SO I'M SURE HE WILL STAY IF(AND HOPEFULLY WHEN) WE DO GET 4TH

I'm inclined to agree that we dont play particularly attractive football for many of our games this season. I've been to perhaps 2 Decent away games out of 6 and a handful of entertaining games at home. ???

I do think GH is too negative at times and a bit 1 dimensional in terms of tactics. However the way teams come and play at Anfield adds to teh tedium and yes I know we should be able to break these teams down but so often we don't m hence our very poor home form this season.

The answer ? Apart from the obvious, GH's departure I'd say we have to add more width and start taking players on. So often we pass and don't move which is non productive. Also I can't remember the last time i saw a Liverpool player make the byline and cross the ball and score a goal !!!!

Empty Stand's? Get real, LFC is a business that's why season ticket's are renewed with a portion of the current season remaining!

The Fan base may be totally and utterly bored stiff of current tactic's, but it will never come to what you have stated!,

Even in the dark days of the Fifties Second Division and all that, when the Blue sh##e were seen as "The Soccer Academy"  akin to a latter day Ajax, the majority of Scouser's wanted to see LIVERPOOL play, the atmosphere, that Nutter on the KOP with the bugle that sounded the Cavelry charge every time we got the ball...... You've got to give us a little more nouse than to dessert the CLUB we all love!

OK I agree the present system is sh##e, we don't play the LIVERPOOL way under "Le FOOL" (Sorry Dalglish, I'm slagging him again), but we've ALL got to believe that the board will see sense acknowledge the FAN's right to what is becoming an overwhelming opinion that GH, whilst leading us to 6 trophies and at the same time putting some PRIDE back into the club has at the same time taken as far as he can.

The loyalty of football fans and LFC fans in particular is bordering on stupidity if you analyse it, the club know thay have us by the heart and its hard to let go of something you have loved all your life.
