Translated to:

Ivan Helguera will be a Liverpool player under Rafa Benitez next season. The Madrid man has agreed a verbal contract with the former Valencia coach, which will go through barring a last-minute hitch.

Helguera, 30, knows it's his last chance to showcase himself at a European giant and will not pass up the opportunity to do so at Anfield. His international experience will be welcomed by Benitez, who already has Carragher, Hyypia and others to compliment his arrival.

If this helguera story is true, i hope he doesn't end up being another pellegrino if so then he should be at bolton.

He's 30 where Pellegrino was 33/34.

''Verbal agreement'' means nothing really, we had one with Figo and the fecker joined Inter MIlan.

By comparing to pellegrino I wern;t just talking about age but the performances he would produce for us. Lets face it helguera isn't the bets of defenders nor the quickest therefore could end up being like Pellegrino. In fact aint he even a DMC and not a proper CB

2 defenders who i really want

Upson: fast, reads the game well and strong. He could be a success in Liverpool as he has premiership experience and suited for european competition.

Bonera: great italian defender with great marking and tackling ability. He is also fast and has the physical strength to cope in the premiership(i love italian defenders!) plus he is italian! :D

I think Upson is overrated imho, and not only that but Birmingham value him at 10 plus million pounds. ???

To be fair to Upson, I think the main reason Birmingham are leaking goals for fun is because Upson's partner Cunningham is now 34 and struggling with the pace of the prem these days.  Haven't watched much of Birmingham to be honest, but having watched Cunningham for Ireland a few times recently I'll bet that has something to do with it.

Still wouldn't sign Upson.  Why does everyone refer to him as a quick centre back?  He doesn't look particularly quick off the mark to me I have to say.
