How much improvement do you think we will make because of getting Sammy and Pelligrino back ?

For me think Sammy will improve the spirit , the attitude and hunger of the players and pelligrino the defending esp set peices.

Well from what ive seen our passing game and ability to keep the ball has dramatically improved!

Based on this time last year I think our standard of football is alot better!

as a player yes - but been well documented the influence he had with carra and sami as they both stated how important he was behind the scene in helping people with the zonal system and most of the credit went to him in helping out the defence .lot of people seem to just judge him on the field .

If he was "helping people with the zonal system" last time he was here, he didn't do a very good job.

Of course I should just judge him on your say so or give my crystal balls a rub, like yourself

EDIT : and how daft is it to ask how we think someone will fare as a coach, only to then point out "people seem to just judge him on the field". If that's how little you value everyone else's opinion why bother asking them?!?!?!?!?!

systems will have nothing to do with improving our defence. what will improve it will be having our best back line fit and healthy for the whole season. last season we were chopping and changing it every week and got no continuity and understanding. we also made stupid basic errors in defence which cost us goals and points, especially at home.

well seeing as im talking about pelligrino the COACH and you started going on about him when he was here last time as a PLAYER i think it quiet simple really , last time he was here he was too slow for the prem due to age but rafa brought him to the club to help the likes of carra and sami understand the zonal system so his time at the club last time was extremly valuableand to enable sami to rest for the CL games - if he hadnt of been able to rest we may not of won in 2005 - and i expect the views of carra and sami about how important he was in them learning the zonal system as once they had done that we then went on to have one of the best defences around - think that speaks for itself really .

Get a grip statto, look at our defence since Benitez came in - awesome once the zonal system was grasped - second to almost none.

wasnt pellegrino about 42 when he came on a free? its not that he was a bad player time had just caught up with him. Maybe this time all his football knowledge and experience will be used in a more positive way. (im sure he could have shown John Arne Riise how to clear a ball with his right foot instead of his bleedin head 2off the ground 2 yards from his own goal)
