New season is Dawning, players back in training , games coming up, but of the signings so far...... Im disapointed on the whole.

We Signed Zenden on a free, so how come Boro didn't offer him a new contract? if he's the "fans " player of the season.
Might have been craking at Barca, he may or may not turn it on at Anfield.

Reina - waste of 8m if you ask me, as I think Dudek is a very good goalkeeper. ok he makes an odd mistake, but not that many. If Reina makes ups next season, you all gonna demand his head?

Gonzales- Signed a second division spanish dood on a 1 year loan, but he's injured until half the loan has expired! great! sounds like Nunez signing all over again.

That new defender, cant think of his name, but an unknown quantity, an not sure how many first team run outs he will get.

Apart from that, the same squad, that lost about 10 away games last season. We need more, top class signings. as the european champions. Signings to inspire the fans, the worlds best players if we want to close the gulf at the top of the premiership.

Rafa said, they as individuals are the best keeper in spain, the best player in Chile to the press. that is a bold statement, and needs to be backed up on the pitch.

2/3 new players coming soon? according to rafa, the susepense is killing me. Please no more spanish second divison players.
Im gonna go to a lot of home games this season and I wanna be impressed! one touch passing , posession, and class, and goals!

The original post is too daft to warrant comment. There is however still a glaring vacancy or two in the squad, particularly in the centre of defence. You know what though, I reckon the gaffa knows this and expect to see at least one centre half coming on board soon.

As has already been said, to get four good players for so little is testament to RB. Using good free transfers/loan deals to fill the squad up means there's still a lot of money for a few big names. And if we then get Figo for free, it'll just mean another excellent addition to the squad with minimal outlay. RB's done the perfect thing - taken advantage of Bosmans and then conserved his money for the big targets.

Alonso Alonso please do not let your lack of knowledge of the Spanish division cloud you veiws of Rafa. He has discovered some of the most coveted players in La Liga to name a few, he was the frist to find Pablo Aimar, Vicente, Mista, Alonso and Luis Garcia. Now i know Nunez didnt work out but he was just make shift in the Owen deal. Anextra boy to fill the gaps while he starts player hunting. And Albacelte may have bee relegated but if you ever watch Euro goals thet Gonzales is like the injury free version of Harry Kewell only twice as fast. As for Barragan, he plays for the under 20's and to be considered the best in that position in Spain is some label. Hes only 16 yet Rafa has not signed these kids for a laugh like GH. Hes doing a Valencia job all over again and hes finding new stars. Give him time.

Excellent point just what i was trying to say. And now many of Valencias best players all have a £60,ooo,ooo release cluase slapped o them. Theres a reason for that Alonso Alsono

Dudeks-double save in Final.
So not all the success last season was down to rafa's signings!

If we go close in the league this season, and win back to back Champions league titles, then ill lick Rafa's shoes.

If we finish same position in league,and show the same form as last season, ill  say.....told you so!

We need players who can put Moreintes and Ciise in on goal, like a Jan Molby or John Barnes.

rafa knows his stuff about finding hidden gems,look at the success at valencia bringing vicente albelda barraja from smaller clubs,he seems to have the same knack as what wenger has at arsenal at finding players from other clubs who seem normal run of the mill players and turning them into superstars and also he knows about all the young spaniards coming through the ranks just like wenger had with the french youngsters.

Yes and if Martyn hadn't saved a Gerrard shot at Woodison, Chelsea midfielder Tiago had been booked and sent off for the handball, Gerrards header at Cardiff had gone several inch's higher, Andy Johnson had not got his head on a wayward shot at Selhurst Park, Josemi had not given the ball straight to a Pompey player in the 90th minute at Anfield, the referee hadn't given Gareth Barry a foul at Villa Park and Cisse never chased that ball at Ewood Park, then we would have won the treble.
