What a load of rubbish, its been proven time and time again that you dont have to big to play in this country, its the biggest myth you hear in football today. In England the game is physical and tough its wheter a player is prepared to adapt and take a few bumps that determines if they make it or not, not how big they are. Wright phillips, Lennon, Walcott, Pienaar, Defoe, Nasri, Arshavin, Denilson, Fabregas, Robhino to name a few are all tiny, lightweight whatever you wanna call and they do fine.

Remember Juninho for Boro as well.

Best little light wieght .

my son seen him a few back back , coming out the blackwall tunnel they were parked next to each other . at the lights, he had a look and realised it was him and gave him the thumbs up . Zola wound his window down and said how are you , my lad said your a ledge Franco lad, with him replying in his way DAANK YOU VERY MACH. he said it was dead funny this little fella driving a massive big range rover ,he looked like a kid behind the wheel. But ive always had time for Zola ,absolute gent onand off the pitch , never moaned just got on with his job and puts some of the big hard footballers to shame with some of the knocks and kicks he took ,but just carried on with the game,
HE WHO BETRAYS WILL ALWAYS WALK ALONE

To be fair though Zola was a strong little fecker. He could hold his own against taller players no problem.
The likes of Juninho and aaron Lennon are physically not very strong at all but are still top players in the premiership.
To be honest you could say the same about Ashley Cole, he looks about 7 stone.

Along with Shelvey in the middle as understudy to Gerrard and wilson at the back learning from Carra, i really think these are three strong squad players that are cheap and will allow us to pay for one or two classy first teamers.
Hopefully the days of spending large amounts on squad players is over.

Shout and a half that lad. and i dont think any of them will feel out of place, i would be confident especialy regarding Pacheco that he could stepup to the  plate at any time and do himself and us justice, No worries about Wilson. but maybe just maybe a little to early for Shelvy. But if it was say in an emergency then i would be botherd about him doing his job,

I just don't think Lucas is ever really going to make a replacement for Gerrard but what i have seen, read and been told about shelvey i think he can do a job of coming on and covering for Gerrard with 20 mins to go if we have the points in the bag.
He seems to have a similar game to Stevie so should be able to come in without disrupting the balance too much
it's the best way to introduce young players.
Here's hoping we have that luxury!!

Pacheco certainly should get game time against the likes of Blackpool and Wigan. I mean starting not off the bench.

Most of the "midget" types who have made it in the Premiership, if not all, have made their names overseas before coming. They've developed their skills in the less physically demanding leagues, they've come in for decent money on a decent contract and they have taken time to settle. The differences between a Zola and a Pacheco are numerous, not the least differnce being that Zola was obviously a better footballer than Pacheco will ever be.

Anyway Zola came to England having already learnt to take the knocks, dodge the body checks and bounce of the assassins. He came on a big contract, with his manager under pressure to play him having recruited him and agreed to pay his wages. He came into a Chelsea team who were happy to be top six, without the pressures of having to perform week in and week out.

Pacheco is different at every level. If we are going to keep him, we should IMHO loan him out to a Spanish team and let him play for a bit, see what he's got. I know most everyone will disagree, but in my opinion he currently wouldn't make it in the Premiership.

Pacheco's second goal v Portugal is absolute class and it clearly  confirms the kids ability
Spain v Portugal under 19s

Pacheco is fast becoming the outstanding player of the Tournament and big clubs will all be sitting up and taking notice
Hodgson needs to blood him this season or risk losing an exceptionally good player
Pacheco's time is now

Pacheco is a damn good player, I've seen him play when Liverpool was on tour.
Recently, another 'lightweight' Spaniard super striker's play got me drawing some parallels. I believe that under the tutelage of Torres and developed by our club with priority and intent like how Barcelona developed Messi, Pacheco has the potential to be the next David Villa :)

And for anybody that didn't watch the game in full. Pacheco played in the left sided attacking role in that game, out of position btw for anybody that doesn't know. :buttrock

what about Fabregas, he isn't exactly a big lad.

And Pacheco has been getting stronger every year.

Also, last season, they played him in central midfield in reserve games to toughen him up a bit.

pacheco probably stands more of a chance of a regular run out this year.
was disapointed he didnt feature much last season especially when we were badly missing some creativity.
im not sure roy is gonna change things too much this season and will look to play steady players like kuyt, babel, lucas and maxi at the expense of the youth.
if these players arent gonna feature for us then its important that they get loaned out for playing experience.
dont agree with the lightweight theory as there are plenty of examples around past and present of small guys constantly performing at the top level with top teams.the best player ever was maradonna and he's tiny.
i really hope to see pacheco and nemeth regurlarly this year either as bit part players for us or on loan,we have a lot of games this year so it might be wise to hold on to them.

Right that's it I'm going to put you into the "Gangster Rappers" group. You're already in the "Machine Gunners" subsection and you're reporting to Benny the Noon in the morning don't forget, well you'll just have to find time for your other support group as well. Actually thinking about it, you can use the Kalashnikov which Benny will give you for the machine gunners group, and use it for your Youtube picks for the Gangster Rappers section.

I'm a big believer in getting you people into groups and keeping you busy. The devil finds work for idle hands and all that.

Made me LOL that did.
