Nando vs cisse

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Paul C » Sun Nov 20, 2005 12:45 am

Personally I like Nando upfront and Cisse on the right, ok Cisse doesn't like it there but today was an example of how much more Nando brings people into play, the amount of times Nando threaded balls through and chased down players, don't get me wrong I like Cisse but Morientes has more of a football brain and reads the game better, also Cisse walks around far too much

Thoughts?  ???

:censored: thread.

Sissy is an average player with exceptional pace. Morientes is a class player who struggles to adapt to the physical side and speed of the english game.

Sissy is scoring goals though at present, weather its luck or persistance or a bit of both its endin up in the net. Morientes is finally starting to look something like the player we hoped we'd be getting.

Still, we need another class striker.

The defense this season has been exceptional. :)

Thanks Stu, cocky b3stard, try starting a decent thread yourself rather than slating everyone else you grumpy get! :;):

Morientes didn't struggle with the physical side today  :)

Stu does make some good points but he's very negative towards people sometimes, I think he needs to bite his tongues sometimes and maybe he won't get banned again  :;):

Nando. Simple really, he's a class proven player where Cisse has a lot to prove in his career. Morientes has it all but the only thing he's been missing so far here with us is a bit of confidence.

Cisse should benefit from playing alongside Nando because he will learn more.

I think Nando and Cisse both have fantastic potential as long as the midfield can get the ball to them in space. Has anyone heard how Florent Sinama-Pongolle is going?

He's playing for the reserves, and the last time he played he scored a goal and got sent off.

El Moro V Cissé?

LOL, theres no competition.

Morientes is proven class, he's an absolutely fabulous footballer.

SO intelligent, brings people in to play, holds the ball up extremely well, his skilful touches are brilliant, and when he finds his goalscoring knack again, he will be truly awesome.

El Moro is a true champion in ever sense of the word.

Cissé is a good athlete, strong, fast and that's all....

His touch, passing, football brain and decision making are all poor.

He will generally score 3 chances out of 10.

its unfair to compare the 2 of them cos they are totally different even though both are strikers. Both bring different dimensions to the team.

Cisse brings pace up front, direct running and a constant goal threat if allowed to run at the defence and shoot.

Nando brings intelligence in the last third of the field, brings his team mates into play and is not a bad finisher to boot.

and since we're on the topic...
Crouch holds up play to allow the midfielders to attack from deep and offers a hugh target for the wingers (if we only had 2 decent ones) to cross at while in the box.

Ofcos, all the above are in the context that all 3 strikers are on form. I am sure Rafa views them this way as well, 3 different strikers for different types of matches. Why compare each of them while clearly each of them has a different style of play.
