well to me it doesn't matter what it'll be called because everyone will still call it anfield, you can't take that away from us.

I'd be p1ssed if they changed the name, Liverpool will always play at Anfield in my eyes.

If it is true then we have to sign a petition to stop using the sponsor name for the stadium. I would be really p1ssed off if they choose Sponsor name for the new stadium.

i imagine there's a lot of arsenal fans screaming for the name highbury not to be replaced with 'the emirates stadium' (FFS), as there was surely at bolton, stoke city, wigan and many others. how southampton and middlesboro got away with it i don't know. anyone care to enlighten me on the stadium sponsorship/funding deals there?

corporate power is simply too great in football now. and some greedy clubs are all too willing to sell their very identity for a quick buck.

Has to be Anfield - But i think there should be a stand named after Shanks, also the Emlyn Hughes Stand sounds good.

Anfield is has to be.. world famous.. nothing like the "This Is Anfield" sign.. saw Souness touch it on him way to watch Newcastle get trashed.. stirs legendary emotions...

Can't take such traditions away...

Actually, keep it called Anfield but name to stands, Kop granstand, Joe Fagan stand, Bill Shankley stand and Bob Paisley stand :cool:

Spot on.

Best club in the world with the richest history. But in some respects the club has to move on with the times so we dont get left behind. But i dont think that should mean cheap sponsorship deals on the name of the ground. Anfield is where Liverpool play, period.

I beleive that Parry and Co have come out publicy and said that the stadium name will remain as Anfield as this is what the majority of fans want.

The Emlyn Hughes, Shankly Stand idea is a good one also.

It would be nice to have "The 96 Stand", cos of Hillsborough Tragedy.

Anyone agree with that or not?

North Stand - "Bill Shankly Stand"

South Stand - "Emlyn Hughes Stand"

West Stand - "The Kop Granstand"

East Stand - "The 96 Stand"

Yeah a Hillsborough tribute would be nice but 'the 96 stand' doesn't sound right, also what are they going to do about 'the eternal flame' as it will have ot go out while they move it to the new ground

.. The Hilsborough memorial is an appropriate tribute .. and wud no-doubt accompany the club where ever it moves.. I think naming the stands after Shanks and other grt legends wud be an everlasting tribute to the grt's who put the GREAT in to Liverpool FC ..
