It amazes me how a player who has been loyal to the club for years, has a bad season and everyone wants a new "better player " to be bought to replace him, yet a manager who has had a poor season gets defended to the hilt as if there is no-one better.

because unfortunately players can get over the hill and time only exacerbates the situation, were as a manager can get better with time and experience like fergie did when he first arrived at manure.

Every thread, there is someone making reference to Man UTD or Alex fuc.king Ferguson as if they are some sort of higher body we aspire to be like!
Its starting to do my ti'ts in!

Lets get one thing clear Man UTD are not the benchmark. Our success, and history is what we want to replicate. We dont need comparing to Man UTD all the time.

LFC has set its own benchmark throughout the years and its a very high one.Thats were we are going and what we want to be like........NOT MAN UTD!!

I don't think Riise for example is over the hill? Lots of personal problems, and playing poorly, but not over the hill.

Or like Bertie Mee of Arsenal who won the title in his first couple of seasons and then did not win it again after about 20 years!!! Yet they changed their manager and won the league in a couple of seasons.

There are a lot more examples of teams changing their manager and winning the league than there are teams showing loyalty and patience before winning the title.

True. But unfortunately they are only now just one championship behind our own record. That really startled me when I read it in the papers earlier. It's shocking. We need to do something about that fast or they will overtake us very soon.

what i find most embarrassing is the number of posters now advocating mureen as manager . This is a man who not so long ago was considered the most vile , arrogant , hypocritical, greasy ,antichrist and the list goes on. Why don't you fellas just go the whole hog and scream for fergie to be our manager. Such short term memory some of you have  :veryangry

6)JBG - Mourinho
7)puroresu - Mourinho or Van Basten
8)BigMick - i think he mentioned mourinho
9)Dav -
10)Lakes -
11)Little Hobo - Mourinho
12)Sarge -
13)Penguins - King Kenny or Mark Hughes
14)club_Levis -
15)teamleader1 -
16)Rockthekop - Mourinho
17)slickrick - mourinho
18)tommycockles -
19)parchpea -
20)god_bless_john_houlding - Martin Jol
21)JohnBull -

Rafa to stay until end of his contract.
1)Lando

4)Igor Zidane
5)Dundalk
6)Zi-Dan Agger
7)Nanny Red (Mourinho over my dead body)
8)Bammo

Id like to see rafa stay until the end of his contract in which he can get rid of the underperformers and bring in some more classe players. People mention babel and torres being brought in but come this summer mascha will be here for good and he will have the opportunity to buy better players. The chairmen have said cash is available for players. When have they ever lied to us?......

As I said, I would love to see what you would say if he did become our manager and win us the title.

I didn't realise football was about nice blokes with lovely personalities, maybe thats where we are going wrong its supposed to be about WINNERS.

I didn't become a supporter of LIVERPOOL because we won trophies, that's just something that came along and happened. If it was just about the silverware then we would all be changing our allegiances every few seasons-glory hunting-no there is so much more than just winning at any price, that's why i condemn Drogba and his diving and cheating to win (all taught by mureen )and i will love this club always regardless of success or failure. I disagree with those who think that mourinho is more likely to win us the premier than rafa , but either way getting mourinho in would be like selling the soul of the club to the devil-- no sorry the price is way to high to pay!

We already sold our soul when we sold out to the yanks, now all thats left is haggling over the price.

Liverpool is about winning, always has been and hopefully always will be. When I hear songs celebrating 20years without a title maybe I will change my mind, but until then I will be quite happy to sing about us winning.

If you would rather be loyal and lose thats up to you, personally I think we should get the best players we can rather than the nicest personalities, and the best manager we can. If it was about getting the nicest manager I am pretty sure Roy Evans would still be manager.

i condemn Drogba and his diving and cheating to win (all taught by mureen )

I suppose Rafa holds classes with Gerrard and Torres on diving as well ? :D

I am sorry but if you think football is about playing nice attractive football and winning nothing , you should support West Ham, LFC IS BUILT ON WINNING

I have already said I would give Rafa one more season, but if he doesn't improve on this one he should GO.

If he goes we should get the best possible manager in, in my opinion Maureen is the best manager available at the moment. If a better manager becomes available let me know.

Shankly was doing just what Maureen does now 40 years ago. Winding up the opposition and their fans. "They are terrified of us" Shankly just before the cup final against Newcastle.

If you were a Geordie do you think you would have been clapping that?  :D

Was Souness a little angel as a player? Or do you think other teams fans might have thought he could be a little rough at times? Or Tommy Smith ? When they are inside the tent  p!ssing out its one thing, but if they are outside the tent p!ssing in no one like them.
