I agree with that. It's supposed to be a place where you talk about football. Some would say it's a place where you "show your support for the club", but I'm not sure the two desires can't co exist.

The way things are right now, we seem to be descending into a silly season period. It's probably been happening for a couple of weeks in truth, Leon packed in his modding and hasn't been seen since (I've no idea why but it appears there was some spat or other), people have been carded and banned who shouldn't have been IMHO, while others are dishing it out without any comebacks. Threads have been locked which IMHO shouldn't have been, and the forum is definately going through something of a blip it's fair to say.

People are turning on the manager, then changing their minds and turning on anyone who agrees with what they were saying when they were turning on the manager, and it all gets very confusing.

There have been some posts on here over the last couple of days by normally good posters which have been a poor way to carry on. Sabre's attack on Owzats thread without talking about the content only the poster was disappointing, he's capable of better. Barry seems to be going through one of bi-annual lose the plot stages, and not for the first time he has convinced himself that it is I who am the devil c... incarnated. Others are rounding on people willy nilly because they have the temerity to express a view which is different to their own.

Unfortunately, I very much get the feeling that one side of the main argument is being much more strictly moderated than the other, which doesn't help.

I've said this a couple of times today but I'll say it again. Why doesn't everyone just wait till the picture is clearer before going off on one, or even getting involved int too heavy an argument. If we win the league then I'll happily post up that Barry is super knowledgeable about the game of football, and his latest change of mind was an insight which I am totally incapable of. If we don't win anything, then the debate can be revisited at the end of the season, as if it'll make any difference anyway.

I said this morning that I was butting out, staying off all the threads apart from two and I think I've since had more mentions in other peoples posts in the last 12 hours than I've had in the last 12 months. Why are some people so keen to provoke a response, to drag me kicking and screaming into an argument I neither want nor see the point in?

I don't think I've ever complained about a poster, a post or whatever to a mod. I'm not going to start now either. I am going to say though that I think whatever the rules of the forum either were or currently are, we need them spelling out and then everyone should try and stick to them. If it really is the case that you must only post up ultra positive thoughts then fine. When I think of one I'll be back. If it really is the case that when you disagree with someone you can just call him a c..., then lovely, at least we know where we are. If it's really the case that when a thread becomes uncomfortable for a segment of the readership, we just lock it then lovely, at least we know what we're dealing with. If it's just a free for all, then great, just so long as everybody knows.

Time to get in sorted and some impartiality I think. Just my opinion but there it is anyway.

Yeah there is a lot of negativity on the forum right now but that is due to the team underperforming, it is to be expected with how we have been playing.  We've been in a major blip so expect people to be critical of everything right now and just deal with it really.  I get tired of reading about it but at the same time I get tired of reading the "as long as I keep supporting the club everything is ok, yeah we're playing like sht but I'm STILL supporting my club so everything is OK" poster as well.  After a while I just don't even bother reading some peoples post until I can bare to read them again.

Ultimately, whether a post is putting a positive or a negaitve slant on the situation, I think the poster has a right to an opinion anyway. If people disagree with the opinion offered, they've got the right to say so and offer opinions and arguments which counter the original. Alternatively of course, they can just call him a c... and attack not the content but the poster himself. I'm not too fussed either way to be perfectly honest, but I must confess I come on here more for the football chat than I do to be called a c...

I can do that without logging on I should think, although there is the obvious rider that usually people are a smidge less likely to call you a c... in real life so you have to wait a bit longer for the experience. Either way though, football chat is preferable in both real life and the internet to being called a c...

Baz, I'm only posting in two threads (three if you count my Mourinho one in Premiership general discussion). You have about 4500 to choose from where you won't encounter me at all. Can I ask that you don't feck up one of my two options. I get the message, it's been emotional and all that. I'm just looking to stay out of trouble, bide me time and talk about football. If you want to call me a c... then peachy, but I won't be getting into no flame wars with you bud. What's the point anyway, next time you change your mind you'll probably agree with me anyway.

Well it is if you haven't got anything sensible to say yes. Anyways I'll leave it there. Though I say this with the absolute certainty of knowing that your response will be "I don't give a sh!t anyway/ban me if you like/feck you" etc etc I hope you don't get banned Baz. I think you add to the forum rather than take from it, and your outbursts today have been outside of your recent character.

Your interjections are normally quite funny, and no doubt our little exchange here has amused more than a few (although I must confess i don't think it's shown you at your best or funniest, but I suppose I would say that :) ).

Anyway, there will be other times I'm sure.

:nod  I've been saying it for a while but they called me the shadow. The ultimate hypocrite as everything Mick says can also be said about him. While some posters call mick a c**t after disagreeing with a post, mick resorts to "you are strange" or rallying the troops via pm (at least saying it to you has more credibility, more manly if you will) or best of all the hidden digs. Mick is sometimes right and sometimes wrong, no more than any other poster on here but for some reason has an army of sheep under him that agree with whatever  he says and he has gone on an ego trip(and it has made the forum much worse). This has led to the situation that we have now that he is too full of his own self importance. I suppose that he must build himself up to feel better about himself (since he sells dildos for a living). Now I hope I will be quoted so he can read my point of view because I am on his ignore list

Strange how almost every thread ends up in a slangin match, name callin, Kuyt baitin and 'In Rafa we trust' haters.

Wonder whether should we actually win the league (this season/next season/whenever) we could have a discussion regardin nothin but football.

Hard as it is to accept other peoples points of view, it is quite easy to ignore the 'flame wars' and jus post somethin sensible that applies for all not jus some poor guy whose opinion you dont happen to share.

Mind, I'm kinda expectin some $H1t my way for this I guess!!
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road
