Mutu has been given 7 months by the FA, pretty lenient IMO.

We can discuss this for 25 pages but Benitez will not sign Mutu. If we are going to sign a striker it will be a Spaniard.

He has been sacked by Chelsea but they are still holding on to his registration, meaning that he will not come free.

Maurinho and Chelsea have threaten any team who will take on Mutu after his ban. Apparently, they have a few issue yet to settle (namely Mutu's indiscipline and Maurinho's ego). While I am not a lawyer and don't understand the implication of this threat, I think he is too much problem and too big a luggage for us to take along. Besides, he have a penchant for high life, which mean Liverpool might not feature on his radar screen, even for a desperate one like him.

While it is sad to see a talent self-destruct, I think Mutu have brought it on himself and letting his ego gets the better of him.

Saw the Mutu interview on Saturday and it was sad. The issue is I still don't think he is telling all, evasive answers as to where he got the drugs etc.

But the problem is not just him, he was just unfortunate to get caught, football needs to clean up its own act and have regular testing of all players then you will see it stop.

The clubs and the FA need to get control again but they wont cos they aint got the boolocks. Too afraid of having to make a change, far easier to try and let someone else try and sort it out, after all it may mean them having to make some difficult decisions and/or cost them money.
